When Ken Bates does sell up or die, should Peter Lorimer be banned from Elland Road for life following his disgraceful selling out & support of the current regime?

Surely he'll be going to Monaco as his head is constantly stuck up KB's arse!

Haven't voted as its not my concern obviously but on a serious note guys surely he should only be invited back as a guest if he after any take-over no longer has a position at the club on or off the board. <ok>

No - If he had been around today playing he would have made a fortune and be living his own life of luxury. A shame that he has took the easy option of being a Ken Bates lap dog but despite my dislike for how he has turned out I wouldn't begrudge him making a living. If he spoke out Bates would sack him, I have no idea if he has a mortgage or what money problems he might have so no, I would not ban him.

No doubt about it. He has to be banned. The club is the fanbase. He betrayed the fans. End of.

Think back to how the collaborators in Europe were treated after WWII - shot if they were lucky, tarred and feathered at the very least & reviled by all around them. Don't think we should shoot Lorimer, but where does one buy tar these days?

Lorimer has the right to watch Leeds United when he likes and should always be allowed to pay and enter Elland Road in order to support his team. However, he has lost his legendary status with the majority of Leeds United supporters and will not be able to get it back. If he thinks he shouldn't have to pay or that he should be treated with respect, then he is wrong and this might be what hurts him more.

I'm with ristac on this one. The guy never played in the big bucks era and has had major money problems. I understand where he comes from and why helicks Bates' arse, even if I don't agree with him at all. As long as he is not on the board and has no say regarding the running of the club, I would even allow him to re-enter for free. Butconly as long ashe just enjoys the game and keeps his mouth shut

as someone who saw Peter make his debut for Leeds United, Peter will always be a legend for me, somewhat tarnished I must admit, by his constant support of Bates, but I suppose he has to earn a living, lets not forget he didn't earn the megabucks that players today get in their paypackets

Sorry Elmo, but can't agree one bit. Money should not be mentioned re. his status. He went against us, and can never claim that he was unaware that he was collaborating with our enemy. He's no better than Marshal Petain (look him up & see the comparison - mouthpiece of the Nazis). I cannot understand for the life of me why some can forgive this man of such treachery. Anyone on this board who shows the least bit of a leaning towards Bates gets torn to ribbons (rightly!). Why should he escape???? He's had many, many opportunities to relent & take the right road, but steadfastly refuses. He is scum and he knows he is. I wouldn't dirty my boot on him.

No, but I doubt he'd want to show his face after selling his soul. Shame really.

You have lost perspective fella. This is not war, but football. No-one is being killed, and all we have is a board that believes their way is right, with lorimer as a director whose role is as a mouthpiece. I am very happy to be able to find it in my heart to forgive him. Meanwhile you carry on paying his and bates's wages and justify it as best you can <ok>

I can't help thinking of Lash the player and Lorimer the idiot.
You can respect someone for their ability but dislike them as a person.
Mike Tyson great boxer a **** of a person, Geoffrey Boycott great cricketer not liked by many and a scum fan.
Lash is desperate for money, desperate people do desperate things.
I'd sack Lorimer but still let him go to Elland Rd, I bet you he wouldn't show his face again though.

I think he has lost respect with most current fans and it won't come back. If I'd had a chance a few years ago to meet Peter Lorimer, I'd have jumped at the chance, now I'd avoid it because I'd find it embarrassing to look him in the eye and think what I'd be thinking.

But ban him, no. He's not a Petain. Its not really a parallel, for me anyway.

If he ditches the false accent, then I will at least show him respect for his footballing ability.
