What do we want? 1. An easier start (on paper) to get a few points on the board? 2. Get the difficult games out of the way? 3. A mixture of the two. 4. Avoid or play promoted teams early?
Everton early. Man U at home early, lets see their revenge and get it out of the way. Newcastle October/November But a Mixture of all really. Bolton had the top 6 in their first 8 games last season (or something like that) and they went down so we dont want that. Promoted teams can be funny though, they can get off to a flying start, so I hope if we do get any, we get them at home.
Thought they were out monday? Anyway personally I'd like to avoid any of the promoted teams or man city
They are out on monday morning 9 am on sky sports. Everton early without Moyes in charge! and because they start slowly, in Sept the Mags h (they will be involved in the europa/league cup etc) Aug 18th home to Chelsea 47,000 gate. (champions of europe) QPR away Home to Norwich away to WBA. And i hope we sign Moses, Yakubu, Fletcher, Mcgeady, Drogba( if i win the euromillions jackpot of £100 m i will pay him £100,000 per week wages!) and buy you all a drink at the sports bar!.
I want to get tough away games and one of the derby games out the way early on. A run of tricky away fixtures and easier home for the first 8-10 games would be class for me.
Like a few others have said, not out till monday. I hope we get you home first around 10th game in, then you away towards the end of the season.
The fixtures are generated randomly, then sent to a committee to see if any necessary changes need to be made, but I'm sure they don't consider the North East derby that important to change around, compared to the London and Manc derbies.
no they are not have a read of this http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2009/06/secrets_of_the_fixture_compute.html
Hard games Oct - Dec for me. We always fade late in the season so a few "easy" ones to finish would be good. Wigan early doors too, being as they turn into Brazil in March
Out on monday pal would like us to start the season at home and end it at home, also newcastle at least 10games in, gives us chance to get our squad settled would like our first 3 to be Villa at home, Wigan away and Spurs at home as for last game of the season Norwich at the SoL
I would like a team like Stoke at home, and the teams around us for the first 5-6 games, and maybe one big team in that. The reason being is I would like us to start off well and get a few wins on the board. It would help players who have been brought in to gel.
arsenal home 1st game - quinn header 1-0 bradford away on boxing day - kevin phillips hattrick ipswich home on new years day - arca freekick charlton away around february - rae special delivery party game at home to west brom final day - laslandes and flo get a brace each wiith a 5th from carteron
A tough start was the reason Bolton went down so I can't understand people wanting tough games to start with and get out the way. The had all the top 6 or 7 in the first 8 games only mustered a couple of points and never really recovered. A season can be decided on how the fixtures pan out. If you get a tough start and are losing regularly it becomes lke a bad habit and knocks the confidence levels. Then when you do play a team you should beat you've got no momentum and no confidence. Works the other way too as Newcastle showed last year. They looked awful against us in the second games of the season but took so much from the win that they were able to turn it into a mentality and string results together so that when you come up against a team you should lose against you are so confident that you dont fear the other team. Id love our first home games to be Norwich Reading Swansea Southampton Wigan West Ham QPR West Brom (my wildcard pick for relegation, dreadful appointment)
