Just read this comment on BBC website. Made me laugh...

"Haven't really heard of him, but he used to manage in Spain and they like to pass the ball about. It would be a good move but in my opinion I would prefer someone who is more well known than Laudrup!"

certainly a manager who will put swansea on the map.

one of the box office managers in the league now, you've got to hand it to jinks he's appointed 3 fine managers and who knows this could be the best yet.

honest opinion is that by 3 years he'll be gone though.

Unbelievable! Michael Laudrup Manager of Swansea City? HOLY MOLEY. I am breathless with excitement. When you think of it, this is astonishing. From the desperation of the Hull game to one of the greatest players ever ever coming to be our Manager? Well I'm just shaking my head in disbelief. What utter brilliant news. ASTUTE, someone wrote? Now that is the biggest understatement ever. it's MONUMENTAL!
Have a great Birthday Mr Laudrup. Not my Birthday today but it feels like it.

Fabulous, FABULOUS news!!!!! Welcome to Michael and a huge well done to all concerned in bringing him here.

Cautionary word, though. Let's not get on the new manager's back if things don't go well in the early days of the season. He is new to the Premier League and I would guess he'll need time to settle and get to know his players in match situations.

I think he'll do well when he has settled and he will certainly raise the profile of our club on a world wide basis. My dark horse did it!! Chuffed beyond words.

I saw that - hilarious! I honestly think this is every bit as big and shocking as when Chelsea signed Ruud Gullit.

just got in from a very ****ty day at work, but here's the news i've really wanted. absolutely delighted! the thought of Michael Laudrup taking training sessions and imparting his skills on our players is amazing. Welcome to Swansea, Michael, now i'm just going to open a bottle of bubbly and put that you tube video on again!

Ivor`s dark horse comes in at a canter, leaving all the others standing. If he`s half the manager he was a player, things can only get better, a lot lot better. HUWge day today in our fortunes. Well done Huw & the board, a masterclass in how to do business.

Phil, your font size has put him off. He's resigned after just 3 hours in the job. What have you done!

I will second that ivor, we have had i hope a good deal swapping brendan for laudrup and £7 million quid but like you say .....lets give him all the time he needs to settle in and suss out what players he needs, We dont know yet if he wants all our current players and he may want to put some of in own players in place. It will take time for him to get to know the players all 30 odd of them and visa versa, what we do know is we have one of the greatest ex player who has ever graced the football field and if he cant mastermind goals then nobody can....2 year contract is a sensible contract so well played to huw or laudrup who decided that as i dont like giving new managers long term until we find out what they can do. .....I'm looking forward to pre=season now where i will be going where ever it is...<ok>
