Thanks. That's a Friday isn't it? Don't these arsehole weddings usually take place on a Saturday?

I haven't really seen anything about it thankfully. I don't read any newspapers purely because they're all full of **** like this. I suppose the day off will be nice, second only to the days of "mourning" when one of the ****ers snuff it as the best thing the royals give back for all the money the glorified benefit fraudsters steal off the tax payer each year.

Even the broadsheets are excessively covering the ****ing thing, I know the Times likes to cover the same subject in several articles per issue with the view points of several journalists, but 5 pages per day for the last month is absolutely taking the piss. Almost driving me to read the Guardian <eek>

A day off work for me which is good but another gigantic waste of my money which is bad.

I don't care for the Royals, never have and one of the biggest mysteries in the world is not "creationism" but the cult of Royal watchers/lovers. I'll bet some of the same people who are happy to slate religion look up to the Royals.

I think it's a right in most modern democratic countries to be able to question or show displeasure at government and it's actions - which the Monarchy being the head of state is.

A couple of you are from a foreign country and have chosen to come to the UK, you are free to criticise your host but it's not very polite is it?

The Royal Family are not anyone's "hosts", they are not the "UK" nor do they own it. They are a throwback which is long past it's sell by date, a still-living stain on our country's Fuedal history and a constant reminder and flagbearers of our shameful class system.

They are not above criticism either on a personal level or on a political one from anyone.

Not me though, I'm a UK citizen <whistle> as Dev says to criticise the media hyperbole around the wedding of the grandson of the Queen is not to be confused with attacking the nationality of every British citizen.

I didn't mean you Mick, I meant Anphowotsit, not sure about Dev.

If NIrish, Welsh and Scots don't want the royals, well to be honest the union has served its useful purpose, they can all become republics then we English can decide whether or not we choose to fund our Royal institution which has stood for over 1000 years.

Even better idea: why doesn't the Gov't set up a special Royal tax for people like you to pay for their upkeep and the rest of us who don't want a bunch of free-loading in-breds can see our taxes go to things that really matter like education, health etc.

Dev served his country unlike these sponges.

As for my nationality, I can directly trace my Scottish lineage back far further than a 2nd generation family of Greeks/Germans. Does that answer your question?

Scots, Welsh and Ulstermen aren't paying for it, we English subsidise you as we do the Royals. Who would we rather subsidise? Now there's a question.
