Cmon guys , we have a possible takeover (again) and all were doing is song game and word game , cmon people lets have a little more effort , I know I`m not a mod any more , but I invested a lot of time and effort here , there are things of interest happening out there , go find them and tell us about them ! Got to be better than the stagnant crawl we seem to be stuck in. If you dont like what I`m saying tough ,coz truth hurts sometimes!
It's PST Norway - Pre Season Tension... But we have lost a lot of posters since we moved off of 606 and I guess at times we all have other stuff to do...I did post about the take-over in The Nest and got little response..
There is a story there Norway, but despite the digging people are not prepared, or able to say more. We can speculate and try to make sense of what does come to light, but we know from the last takeover that the club will keep very quiet until a deal is complete. If you have a look around other forums you can see that there is a real shortage of actual news, but that could be because everything is on hold until this is resolved.
The one thing I see is Watford are very secret in what they do. We never know what is going to happen until it has passed. We have rumours of transfers and another take over and that is all. We could have some more pictures of the new field or the Watford Observer could send a journalist to find out things for the paper. Hornette could kidnap a youth player until he tells some information.
I think that Euro 12 may be the problem. If they think about football in the closed season they think about that. I'm sorry I can't comment about the proposed take over, I know very little about the parties involved. Most of my thoughts come from this forum anyway.
The truth is that we are busier now than we were in summer 2010. Last season doesn't really count because of the conscious effort to make sure this board was alive and kicking while 606 closed down. That doesn't make you wrong to post this Norway, because there isn't enough Watford stuff, but as summers go this is about par for the course. As for the takeover, the only group I can find that matches Affleck's description is a Swiss-based consortium with links to multiple blue-chip companies, including an extremely high profile British retailer. It didn't buy Charlton a few years ago due to an issue with proof of funds. It should be stressed that, unlike with Bassini, there was absolutely no question that the consortium was good for the money. But in common with us and Bassini (remember that our board voted against his takeover), Charlton were not satisfied that the money was ring-fenced.
I have no idea of what is going on at the club, this is a time of pure speculation. During that time I usually can only come up with comedy nonsense, please see my last post in the takeover thread ! Watford keep things on the DL until things are done, just the way it should be. I only like to use this board to talk about the Hornets and football, I guess now is a time to sit back relax a bit on the Watford front and to enjoy the Euros until some real movement starts to emerge from the fog that now surrounds the takeover and transfers at Watford !!
Thanks NNW then you share my frustration , is this an offshoot of fb or is it a football club forum giving news about our beloved club, word games song games etc all very well in the scheme of things, but I come to this site to findout what is happening to the Horns,not to play silly mindless games ! you can suggest all you like Norway, but as usual, if you don't like a thread, don't open it. Simple. The same could be said of the chess thread which i see you have no problem with, how strange, as it's a game and falls into the same category. If you want to talk about the possible takeover, fine. But it's pure speculation and aside from guesswork there's nothing to be said that hasn't already been said. There is no Watford news that hasn't been posted about. Like all forums, they are there to discuss specific topics, but if people go off topic, that's their perogative. If you have a problem with certain threads, like i said, you're well within your rights to ignore them. Enjoy posting, but don't try and make others feel bad for posting what they enjoy. This board is for everyone who supports Watford FC, and everyone has a right to enjoy it as they see fit.
The trouble is there is no news, not real news anyway just heresay, rumour mill stuff. Once we get hard facts we shall all be far happier but until then we can surmise all we want. There is nothing hard and fast, just chewing the fat as they say
Been a little misunderstood here , its not just the takeover I am referring too , its the whole board , I accept its the close season ,and that people are busy or on hols or whatever, but to me now we have got all very samey samey. A while ago W-y told me that he thought this board has lost its bite, I didnt really understand him then , I think I do know and the board has drifted along with a lack of bite or purpose, Hell to a large degree it has become pretty staid and boring , New blood is required I think , with new ideas, I have had a look at other sites and most have a similar problem . The old 606 (may be tinted specs job) imo there was a lot more happening , with wums ,heated discussions etc I dont know how to fix the problem ,but it does seem to me that we have got a little lost!
So what you're basically saying is that you miss Garry, and wish Watford's annual summer implosion was a little bit more public this year?
We cannot put threads in two clubs homes anymore. That messed a lot up. If I want to talk to another team about anything with a new thread and include the Watford fans as well the process in now difficult.
NNW - Yes, I miss Gary and I miss WUM's and scummers like Bobberman (RIP) coming on here. I only have my stalker to play with these days and he disappears for months when the going gets a bit tough... Perhaps we need a few edgy topics to get the juices flowing....perhaps we will have to wait until the John Terry trial?
