Previously it was reported that Barmby was in line for the Birmingham job - now The Mail are reporting "Former Charlton manager Alan Curbishley and former Hull and Preston boss Phil Brown are both on the short-list to replace Chris Hughton at Birmingham City."

If Curbishley wants it I think they would be daft not to offer him the job

Thats another way to weaken one of our rivals next season. Then again the state Birmingham are in at the moment it could be another PNE SITUATION FOR OLD TANGO MAN. ;)

Doubt that Alan Curbishley will work north of Watford gap again. Its his nose ya know. <whistle>

How long has Curbs been out of the game ? Always been a bit over-rated in my opinion.

How long has PB been out the game? Always been massively over-rated in my opinion.

Edit- A complete and utter fukwit who by his own admission would have gambled the entire future of our club on his transfer dealings.

On second thoughts let's hope he does get the Birmingham job and then moves onto Leeds.

And with his arrogance, poor purchases of players and self promotion instead of keeping the team promoted he quickly got us out of the so called "promised land"

He wont work north of Watford gap. It started off as a joke but now it appears to be very true. <whistle> He could have had the Barnet job upto a few weeks ago. ;)

if you had given any half-decent manager the budget and support of Duffen, and they could have got us into "the promised land". Brown was lucky to be the man in charge.
Would love to see him in charge of a Championship team like Brum to see how he does there - but we know Brown supporters will blame external factors (transfer budget, a nasty man who knows nothing about football at the club, injuries, the media, fans who know nothing about football etc, etc, etc) if or when he fails there
