It has finally come to an end. What a fantastic record, never losing a home league game for 9 long years bofore Real went down to Gijon 1 0 Well done Jose that one will take some beating I reckon
did spurs really think they were going to get a result, I heard so many quotes of real are shakey, ffs they are 8 points behind barca, a team that won 15 in a row. if united arsenal or city won 15 in a row the league would be over yet real are still in there. Shakey at the back, looked solid to me last night and snuffed out spurs quite easily, typical Jose tactics
I think spurs were over confident, They saw Bale as an equal to Ronaldo and then guessed that the rest of their team were equal to Real's because of that... they were wrong
To be fair, 'arry was hardly going to stand up and say "We're shafted. Absolutely ****ed. Try not to concede double figures lads". ALthough it would have been funny if he had!
Harry aint the problem, its the deluded fans, pundits and ex spurs 'legends'. Jesus, Real are a quality side and were vastly underestimated by the english media/fans.
Agreed. Player for player Spurs are nowhere near as good as Real Madrid, heck player for player Spurs aren't on a level with about 10 European clubs. I hate the way Spurs fans are laying blame to Crouch as if he would have made a blind bit of difference. Real Madrid were taking pot shots at goal from Tottenhams goal area, somewhere, where as a striker Crouch wouldn't be anywhere near
Spurs haven't won a game since AC Milan in February. Provided they continue the tradition of Champions League hangovers and we can beat them in a few weeks we have a great chance of nicking 5th! A slim chance but a chance none the less! On another note, Gareth Bale is hopefull Tottenham can still qualify! and people call us deluded!
Spurs let in almost as many as they score. If Spurs go all out attack against Real Madrid they will get battered again. Both sides have played 30 league games & Real's Goal difference dwarfs Tottenham's
Yeah but once again Bale's hardly going to stand up and say "Yeah, we're ****ed. Utterly screwed. I think I'm just gonna stay home and do the ironing next Wednesday". True, but then Real's goal difference dwarfs that of pretty much any time in Europe apart from Barca. Those two just use the rest of the Spanish teams as whipping boys. It's gonna take a massive effort from whoever the other finalist is to stop whichever of them gets to the final.
VDV said they were screwed On TV, plain and simple, but he has played at Madrid and he knows the gulf between the teams, he was also not great though he didn't see the ball much. Arry is off the the England job, he though he had a slim chance of winning the CL so he put all his eggs in that basket. WHEN RAFA DID THIS THE ENTIRE FKING COUNTRY had a go at him non stop, when we won it, but not Harry no, it was because our league was over in decenber ect ect, it is ok for Harry to shaft spurs in this manner, he should have been trying to guarentee CL footy next season instead of trying to win this one, spurs want the money and constant international exposure to help with luring players, now VDV is gonna be in the spurs shpping window. VDV gone to United in june\july whats the bets, carrick going the other way
Swarbs made a point about Spurs being tough to overhaul in terms of Liverpool getting back in the champions league.I dismissed it.Spurs are not a threat, were never a threat or will ever be a threat. I'll tell you why. Spurs in the last couple of years have only spent less than Chelsea and Man City. For all their spending the most they have managed is one season in the CL and a possible although its not nailed on a 5th placed finish.Supposing Liverpool do finish above them, and this is a Liverpool side that has had its worst season in 10 years?I made this point before, what will Liverpool do to them when they get their act together? And Liverpool getting their act together is going to happen very very soon.John Henry and Tom Werner have both confirmed this. This is the sole reason why I don't think Liverpools chances of getting back into the CL places is all that difficult. They can easily oust City or Chelsea.City are poorly managed, and Chelsea are over the hill.
Trust me, VDV is far more suited to your needs than modric, though I can see why people might see modric as a good player for the left wing, thats where I would put him, where giggs will be vacating with vdv behind rooney and the mayan or Berbadross. You do realise you'll have to pay 30.00002m = 28m for vdv and 2m and a scratch card for carrick VDV I think would be what United are missing ever since scholes couldn't cover the ground like he used to and VD V can tackle better too but maybe not quite as good vision passing as Scholes, still a worthy replacement for the moment I would think. Sprus will keep bale and lose VDV or and modric this summer, as noone actually wants bale, especialy for some ridiculous asking price. They have a useful midfield when attacking but it goes missing when it comes to helping out the defence a lot.
Well with spurs substandard physios and training methods I am not surprised, surely Fergie will fix that.
Spurs, in the CL, are the equivalent of Blackpool in the prem...Element of surprise. They've been found out now.. KPR.. Have to agree with you now, Spurs aren't likely to be back in the CL anytime soon
How quiet was Bale by the way? I know he was injured and coming back but I mean.... what I think it was one run he got behind?
True, but I am getting at the media cr@p that has fans actually believing the dross they print, especially the pundits on TV, ohh Barca are shakey at the back Ohhh United will really cause them problems, Actual result Barca 2 United 0, United given a footballing lesson Again, United in Milan. Ohh UNited are sure to go through say themedia and pundits after the 3 2 lucky win at OT and again UNited get a footballing lesson and are wiped out of the game without a look in. Same spurs and real, a team of very good players and the best manager in the world right now against a hodge podge of sheite and decent players and a very average manager with no success to his name at all yet spurs fans actually thought they had every chance, if they faced the real Liverpool faced two years ago then yes they might have, thats what the media and pundits were basing their assumptions on, and oh how wrong wrong WRONG they were, Real didn't even get into top gear, more like 3rd gear out of 5 and they walked it. Says it all about spurs and the no show of inter at WHL was a red herring
