Luv it!! Just when Rangers fans think the worst has happened....... Unlucky Wattie. Looks like Fattie will be off as well.
They can still buy the club from Green though, can't they? Buy it for £5m one day, sell it for £10m the next. Easy way to make a quick and tidy profit.
Yeah. Whyte takes the club into admin - he get the blame. Green takes the club to newco - he gets the blame. Walter buys it off Green. Sounds like a plan.
Does that mean we'll be back to 'wealth of the radar' investors and 'fumfty squillion pound warchests'?
Ian Hart has made a statement to say that he is not one of the consortium headed by Green., as previously stated by Green Hart statement on the BBC says he is behind Douglas Park's bid. If Hart hasn't put his money in then the Green purchase will fail as the funds won't be available. What's that coming over the hill, it's Sir Walter, it's Sir Walter.
Rangers are dead. Long live Rangers. The mere mention of the great man's name and the yahoos are bricking it.
Could you believe anything said that involves Rangers? "Green added: "In terms of investors in the company, to date our investors include Chris Morgan, a UK-based businessman representing family trusts; Glenmuir, the renowned Scottish clothing company; Ian Hart a Glasgow-based businessman; Alessandro Celano of Blue Pitch Holdings and Zeus Capital." But Hart said he was not part of the Green consortium and restated his support for Douglas Park, who is part of the group led by Smith. He stressed that he has not put new money into Green's Sevco consortium, and was in fact one of the Blue Knights, who were involved in a previous bid for the club. http://sport.uk.msn.com/football/green-completes-rangers-purchase-1
Imran Amed (non-executive director), said that as well as the £5.5m, the cost incurred are up to about £10m. Other investors would be looking for a multiple of that if they were to sell their shares. There you go Walter. £20m should just about do it.
The Board of the Rangers Supporters’ Trust welcome today’s bid headed by Walter Smith. We firmly support the view that Rangers men should be in charge at this critical time in our history and that no profit should be gained by any individuals owning the club. This bid is the only one which will ensure all the Rangers family are united and if it comes to fruition we can pick ourselves up and take the first tentative steps on the long road to recovery and our 55th Scottish League Championship. We ask Charles Green to step aside from any deal to purchase Rangers and allow Walter Smith and co to lead us into this new era for our club. The Rangers Supporters’ Trust board calls on all supporters’ to hold off renewing season tickets till this situation is resolved. Boycotting themselves now. The funny thing is its the supporters that are killing there own club. They refuse to apologise, plan to boycott away games next year and took the SFA to a civil court. All these things are turning the other clubs against them and they could very well end up in the 3rd division. Now add to it, refusing to buy season tickets and THE Rangers could be in admin in there very first season, lol.
