an amazing spin on the whole sacking IMO....

you lot appointed ramos to take you to the next level and it back fired. Harry was talking rubbish about title charges and it fell apart but surely the world can see this is a huge risk to take given the total finance he got was nelson and saha last january. who'd going to to take on a job where the best players will be on transfer requests and the rest are aging fast? I reckon harry had a better chance top 4 next year than just about any manager you appoint.

I believe the money is there. Its whether Levy was willing to bet said money on Harry. The last couple of days have shown to me that he wasn't.
We actually have quite a young nucleus of a squad, but thanks for your concern

Redknapp's dismissal isn't based entirely on results, by any means.
I think that his dealings with the media and trying to force Levy's hand on his contract got him the boot.
I said this at the time:

The January signings were a hint at this departure, though I think that the chairman expected the FA to come in for Redknapp.

I like Harry for one reason alone: I love Spurs. And he was delivering the goods for us. Now we go down the road of uncertainty and likely failure that a new managerial appointment always brings. Hold the champagne for me...

having slept on it...i wake up quite excited at what will go on at our club.

we all appreciate what Harry has done...and now im really looking ahead to the strategy Levy will apply in order to help our club move forward.

I look forward to this feeling dawning on me. I'm sure it will come. I'm a football fan and therefore given to totally unjustified waves of optimism.

It's just that all the optimism so far has been driven by pie-in-the-sky talk. I just can't believe right now that some of the names bandied about here are going to do better than Redknapp.

I jusy hope that in six months' time people are not calling for Levy's head. Cos, for all the good he's done, his lasting legacy could be that he sacked our two best managers in the EPL era.

Man United found out over Berbatov that its Levy's way or no way

Liverpool were made to look stupid over the Keane deal

Portsmouth got stripped of good players Crouch,Kaboul,Defoe and Nico because Pompey owed Spurs money.

Harry found out you dont behave in the manner he did in order to get a new contract..plus whilst at Spurs it is Spurs first then England...he played with fire and got burnt.

Thank you Harry for the beautiful memories..and there were some great ones but there are only 2 kings at the Lane...Levy is one of them.

    COYS!!!

I carry a bit of fear with me too Lenny....nobody said we are guaranteed better things with our next man...but even you must admit...Spurs had become a bit of a media joke due to Harry and his constant drivelling with regards to his contract..which followed the England fiasco....i dont see why the owner of Spurs should take that lightly and it wasnt....it was not even Levy's shout i hear...Joe Lewis actually told Levy what he wants for Spurs...im happy to trust these people.

    Like.

In Levy i trust. Yep, the dude is infuriatingly slow when trying to squeeze out a deal (eg, Vertonghen) and he has made some boobs* in the past but i consider him the best chairman in the league. The club is stable and financially sound. New training ground, new stadium on the way. The squad is quality. We have been in the CL! All without running the club into the ground (Leeds)

    * Boobs:
1 - the treatment of Jol, although i do believe he had taken us as far as he can. Right to go, wrong how it was handled
2 - Ramos. Clearly having a bad month there Levy
3 - Santini, although that was fairly swiftly remedied.
4 - Redknapp???? Who knows? It feels a bit like the Jol situation, but Levy was proved right there in the end, just.

Getting a lead is irrelevant if you fail to maintain it, be it the story about the tortoise and the hare or Newcastle in the 1995-6 season.

Did the players perform? Let's look how many points we got from the various clubs in the league:
    Man City: 0
    Man Utd: 0
    Arsenal: 3
    Newcastle: 4
    Chelsea: 2
    Everton: 3
    Liverpool: 4
    Fulham: 6
    West Brom: 6
    Swansea: 4
    Norwich: 3
    Sunderland: 4
    Stoke: 1
    Wigan: 6
    Villa: 4
    QPR: 3
    Bolton: 6
    Blackburn: 6
    Wolves: 4

That shows that we didn't perform in the biggest games - against the Manchester clubs, against Chelsea, and at the Emirates. Excuses can be made for the City results (although a lot of excuses need to be made for losing 5-1 at home), but the complete lack of adventure in either of the Chelsea games, laying down in front of MUPLC at home, and the patheric capitulation at the Emirates undermine any talk of the players performing.

The late season saw us put in pathetic displays against QPR, Norwich, Villa and Sunderland - there is no point in looking back at our form from September-December when our March-April form was the exact opposite, as we failed to perform and we failed to get results, which saw us drop points every time we took to the pitch and had several on this board fearing that we'd be lucky to hang onto Top 6, let alone Top 4.

Harry hasn't delivered better results, that's the point - during his tenure we...
    * Failed to register a win over Manchester United (including the Man Utd reserves in the 2009 Carling Cup final)
    * Failed to break out Stamford Bridge hoodoo,
    * Failed to take advantage of Chelsea being in the middle of appalling form and gifted them a draw two seasons running
    * Took the grand total of four points from the three teams relegated in 2010-11

His approach to games against most of the top teams, especially MUPLC, was to hope for a draw - a tactic that failed every single time.

Two things you can guarantee: Moyes won't be angling for the England job, our set pieces will improve overnight.

The boobs he made were not because he thinks about himself..he thought about Spurs but it went pear shaped..the good thing is Levy seems to learn..and its obvious he cant mess around because as proved with the Harry fiasco...Joe Lewis keeps a watchful eye on WHL....im happy to see my club being looked after....we are not owed by some Americans who use our club as a debt repayment organisation..or a toy where today we spend silly and tomorrow we regret and pay for it in many ways(a whole new debate)

Levy wants success for Spurs....its obvious....sometimes a step back must be taken in order to take 2 forward..lets see...i know we are in safe hands.

The problem is that Harry cares more about what the media say about him than the fans of the club he's managing, judging by the last four months of his reign.

HBIC - but are those results worse than Jol? that's my point. The results against Chelsea, Man Utd etc were as poor for him, weren't they?

And by "results" I just mean league finishes. And making up tangible ground on Arsenal isn't bad either.

They're the same - except for the fact we were a case of food poisoning away from overhauling Arsenal under Jol.

if this is another 'Jol' then it shows one thing to me...

Levy wants us to move up a level to be competing in the top 3..and he wont give up untill he gets his man or sells up....im ready to back him with such aspirations..so what if we dont do as well at first.

And this year we were a West Brom keeper who kept throwing the ball into his goal away...
