Had the same phone call about six months ago.... It's a sham company trying to sign you up for maintenance contracts on your PC/Laptop...I actually went along with it, up to when they wanted my bank account details... Best thing to do is take a contact number from them and google it, which is what I did. Stay safe out there surfing buddies.... NEVER, EVER give you bank account, or CC details over the phone to some one, even if it is someone form your bank, cc company, etc... Stan
I am not alone in loving these calls then? I simply say 'YES' to every question and as soon as they suss me out I blow a whistle down the 'phone. It drives them ****ing mad!!!
You've got too much time on your hands. Ask them for their name, the full name of the company that they work for and their address. Tell them that you have been scammed before and ask for their understanding while you carry out a few precautionary checks with Microsoft, Trading standards and that you do believe them but that if they refuse to do so, you will just have to assume the worst and report their telephone number to BT. Phone down in seconds. Guaranteed. Or your money back. Just give me your bank details now so that I can set up the transaction and place a holding deposit of £10 million as a measure of my faith in you.
Tell them you have a Mac with IP catcher and will have his exact location in under a second tell him also his firewall will be breached in another 2 ... Conversation should last another 3 secs ... If he hangs on tell him you know have his exact GPS location. I am currently setting up and designing online workflows for a major insurance company ... it's scary stuff regardless of the customer facing assurances that data is safe ... it isn't My advice to anyone who isn't on a MAC to de-tech or learn how to completely clear and reset your browsers and buy a donkey to get around on. If you all think that all the media stuff we have been discussing is big brother then FFS times that by 1000 and you may get near the gravity of what's going on in the digital world.

Did he have any tips on the horses & dogs? Sounds like the well publicized Microsoft Windows scam that has been making the rounds. You could always offer him Rob Hulse at a bargain price?
