    David Moyes - 2/5 favourite

    Roberto Martinez - 5/2

    Fabio Capello - 5/1

    Rafa Benitez - 7/1

    Andre Villas-Boas and Jurgen Klinsmann - 10/1

I'm sorry but this is a big, big mistake if the above managers are what the club believe are to take this team to the next level.

I could possibly understand Capello on the basis of his previous record abroad but that is all in the very distant past and he would bring a dour brand of football.

Any of the rest are just going to end in complete disaster if they expect them to improve on 4th.

Levy can go for the hatrick to add to his santini and ramos appointments before we end up with another coach to come in and sort out the mess.

and here is the club statement

Which leads to me believe we will go down the dof/coach role again for a "fresh" approach when right now we needed stability, not more drama and fresh ideas.

What a crap, uninspiring list of names (excluding the few that aren't realistic).

To get rid of our most successful premier league manager just so the club could go in a new direction, without even knowing who the right man is, is short sighted and I can't believe we are going to screw things up again.

You don't want Drama or Fresh ideas? What kind of football fan are you? Football is all about drama and fresh ideas, that is THE GAME. Do you prefer balance sheets and profits, that surely is more and more the football owners game.

I am a fan of football, I am not a fan of football business.

The decision has been made, there's no point harping on about wrong decisions from the board.

Looking at the names I think you're wrong to say they are uninspiring. Redknapp when appointed would hardly have been classed as inspiring, so why can't Moyes, AVB, Martinez or Blanc amongst others do a job? What were you expecting, Mourinho, Guardiola and Hiddink?

I must have missed the club announcement where they said they didn't know who the right man is. Have some patience. Harry left mere hours ago, even with a new manager lined up nothing is going to happen that quickly

On the plus side, we're more likely to bring in Hiddink than McCarthy or Pearce...

The fact is that, whilst we dither on transfers, when we pick a new manager it's done quickly - Santini, Ramos and Redknapp were hired within 48 hours of their predecessors' departure, whilst Jol just moved shuffled along them bench from his ill-defined "advisors" role.

Steady on spurf, i can make a comment in relation to a specific part of football, not the entire game so don't read words and run away with what is typed as we all love the drama of football, as in the game we watch.

Were have i mentioned anything about the business? maybe take your time reading what is typed before you get carried away.

As i've pointed out, fresh ideas and a change for the sake of it often end in disaster and that is in regards to FOOTBALL, i don’t care about the business (aslong as its healthy and keeps the club in business).

Santini, Ramos, great "fresh ideas" that worked well.

Its called reading between the lines and I fully expect there isn't a top target, what will most likely happen is they identity a new direction and then go about searching for the right man to fit that role.

If thats the case and we hire any of them top runners then I hope as a set of fans you're happy either watching a manager struggle to get us higher then 4th, or play a dour brand of football as that is what will happen!

Levy is not the type to make a rash decision without considering a replacement. He'll have names in his head so calm yourself down. Santini and Ramos Fresh Ideas that didn't work. Redknapp and Jol Fresh ideas that did. Stop your negativity and trust in our chairman.

Jol was brought over as a number 2 and I believe that was franks thinking and he pushed for him to be given the job.

Redknapp was a no brainer as it wasn't a "fresh idea" it was hiring an experienced manager to sort out the mess of the "fresh idea".

I'm a little worried AVB is the one they have in mind. He'd be a culture shock akin to Ramos with strict timekeeping, over the top fitness and dietry routines that out players simply won't be used to after 'Arry.

Moyes is the only choice out of the realistic candidates for me.

I very much doubt that. Levy is no idiot, and will have already made discreet enquiries. Harry boy has no one to blame, but himself. As I put earlier, IF he had gone to Levy privately, apologised for the England fiasco, and accepted that he has to regain the confidence of the board, he might still have a job. Instead, typical Harry, he runs to the press, opens his gob, and tries to put pressure on Levy that way. Not very subtle, or clever, and I suspect that was the last nail in his coffin.

ha ha spurf you always get carried away! but its cool, we all want the club to be a success, on and off the pitch yet i certainty don't want us run as a business first, football club second as that is what I've felt we have been run as and is one of the reasons we can't get higher then 4th/5th.

I'd be quite happy with AVB tbh. His main problem at Chelsea was the players. Firstly, they were in need of replacement within the next year or so, so he had to start weening them off now. We won't have that problem as our squad is in significantly better shape. Secondly, the reported problems with the players not respecting the manager. Whether this is true or not, it wouldn't be a problem in our dressing room, no massive egos bar VdV, and it'd be safe to say he'd be playing so he'd be happy

Ramos and Santini had huge amounts of experience. Some could say Redknapp was therefore a risk because of his experience.
