I wouldn't be that worried if we lost him to be honest. He is replaceable. But I'm sure I'm on my own

Look at it from Koren's point of view,

He want's to play in the Premier League, that's common knowledge.

So he either has to stay with us, hope we get promoted and then hope we retain his services when we are promoted (bearing in mind he'll be 32/33 then).

    or

Move to a Premier League club now, which may well be his last offer to do so.

If he stays with us there's every chance we won't go up next season and he may then be too old to attract another Premier League club to come in for him.

As much as I'd like to keep him you can see why he might be interested in this move.

Koren's due for a new contract, that'll either be with us, or it'll be with a new club, after a transfer. Either way, its an opportunity for Loren's agent to get him more.
We've all been saying Bruce needs to get the likes of Loren and Rosenior tied down to New deals. Was that going to happen without them demanding more?

This is just a negotiation tool.

This is just Korens agent doing what agents do. Stir things up. I doubt that Koren wants a relegation on his CV which he will surely get by going to Reading. I would think that when Steve Bruce tells Koren of his plans and signings any doubts will be removed. Koren can get a promotion on his CV by staying. IF it does not happen or look like happening then he could go in January. Just another lazy HDM piece as always. imo.

Agreed re. your comments on agents. Agents are like cancer, we have to live with it as there is no known cure....YET.

In saying that IF Koren wants to go and Reading want him that badly make Reading pay. We can get Keith Andrews hopefully and maybe Steve Bruce can get the lad Nick Powell from Man Utd on loan for the season. ;)

I would suggest that he will be.

Didn't he get relegated with West Brom? Also Reading had a takeover, so even though they haven't spent yet they may well do soon. Last season shows that promoted clubs have more of a chance than they ever did. Personally i think keeping him will be paramount to our success this season, people who are suggesting we should sell Koren and Fryatt have just removed about 75% of our goals last season. Its easy to sell it's hard to get equal or better replacements.

Why wopuld Reading get relegated? They probably had a better squad than Norwich even before promotion, and they'll start spending their billions shortly to improve their squad. I think they'll stay up. City getting promoted seems unlikely too, though I hope you're right.

This is the same Robert Koren that didn't want to play in the Premier League with West Brom?

If they do that Koren will hand in a transfer request.

Turner was worth more than whatever paltry sum we got for him. At the end of the day he wants to leave and only has a short amount of time on his contract left which will lead to his value dropping until he can go on a free therefore one way or another he will go.

He's a good player but I doubt he will sign another contract. So we'll have him one more season. We could cash in on him I suppose. Plenty of other good players about.

A chance of what ? a seasons long relegation battle with a team who look odds on for the drop. ? Maybe if a Wigan, DQPR or Fulham had come for him it would be different. I think he will give us one more year at least.

Yes he has. 2009 with WBA but then again he has 2 promotions on his CV. Koren is settled here now and with Steve Bruce in as manager that should more than appeal after Barmbys sacking. Koren can focus on getting Hull City UP and staying up.

We offered £6.5m for Jelavic (apparently another club offered £8-9m) and he went to Everton for £5m.

If it was selling to another championship side, you would probably get alot more than what a Prem side will end up paying, basically just because they are in the premiership, which gives the player more incentive to move.

If he does hand in a transfer request, we could do with your dumb owners to put in a high bid so we can get a bit more cash from Reading

Reading are no more likely to be relegated than Wigan and certainly not more than QPR.

Promoted teams staying up has become the norm in recent years, what makes you think Reading with all their new wealth will buck the trend?

    This.
