Its just sad people opening twitter accounts second guessing. Beckford may or may not have handed in a transfer request but if he has he would of done it by now. Nigel wants rid of him nutting in a transfer request wouldn't do much
There is nothing wrong with his ability. Its his work rate and attitude which is the problem. He is good enough to stay and be first choice just Nigel has had enough of him Same goes with Matt Mills. He is a very good player its just his attitude which lets him down
Apparently Beckford's agent has tweeted saying something like; "He has not [handed in a transfer request] and will not." So no substance, which I think is a good thing. I'll try to find the link.
nick rubery ‏@nickrubery1 “@TFS_Bolton: Jermaine Beckford hands in transfer request amidst interest from Bolton Wanderers. #LCFC #BWFC NO HE HAS NOT AND WILL NOT!! http://www.prostarplayers.com/about-us/ There you go. The second link is confirmation that Nick Rubery is Beckford's agent.
I am a little sceptical about this ... formal transfer requests have to be in writing and I'm not sure he will have had enough time since the end of the season to have composed anything legible ...
Proud - sorry but I can't agree with the points I've put in bold .. Mills is an average British centre-half who I just can't see ever hacking it in the Premier League - his distribution and decision making are arguably only just Championship standard Beckford is a good finisher if the chances are provided to him in or around the penalty area... anywhere else on the pitch he is a liability, not a team player, and has a very poor touch....
If he has handed one in, it means that a club has a definite interest in him - anyone heard anything?
He isn't worth what we paid but he is still a very good defender Beckford got 15 goals bearing in mind he didn't turn up to Jan then that's a decent return.
Would you want Mills in a Premiership defence? Everton got rid for a reason It's all relative but I really can't see either of them becoming established Premier players ... and our owners want us to become an established premiership outfit ..
We're not in the prem though. Mills proved with Reading when on form he is one of the best defenders in this league. When Bamba was away with ACON Mills and St. Ledger played well together keeping clean sheets. Everton sold Beckford because they needed the money. From selling Beckford they sign Sracalursci and Drenthe plus paid some of the money to the bank who they owe millions to. If it was down to ability Nigel wouldn't even consider selling them. It's their attitude and ego why Nigel wants rid
As I have often said .. footie is all about opinions ... I believe that Nigel has realised that both players are of limited ability and certainly not 'in-line' with the long term plan / owners expectations ... he may indeed keep them and they may play a part in a succesful campaign ... but personally I doubt it ... Wes Morgan is better in every aspect of the game than Mills... Vardy has the potential to be a better player than Beckford ... he certainly has a better touch already and, it would seem, team / work ethic ... yes we need a squad but you need players who bring something markedly different .. and I don't feel that either Mills or Beckford do ... it will be interesting to see what Nigel thinks by his actions - or lack of them ...
