Except when he turns into Paddy Kenny for the last 2 seasons, players performance drops a lot in their 30s, even some goalies. Think of what happened to Seaman.
West ham have agreed terms with Jussi Jaskeleinen from Bolton, so Green's on his way somewhere, that's for sure.
Not my first choice goalkeeper but it is good that we are looking at international quality players and not "one final pay check" players.
who is awful, hopefully he will be off very soon. We have got to stop signing player who are after their last big contract. I accept Green if the 40k reports from sky are true. I dont want to see crap 30+ players on massive wages who are no better than what we already have. eg Johnson.
West Ham United to sign Jussi Jaaskelainen from Bolton - the other half of this equation. Green coming to us certainly looks on. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18430239 I guess Bolton are sticking with young Ron Weasley.
Not sure how i feel about Green might be great but also got this feeling that we're all going be saying why did we let Paddy go.....
I went on Twitter and the West Ham site KUMB and i must say the comments coming out from them are quite nasty. Blah Blah blah why QPR? blah blah blah #### club blah blah blah small club getting relegated unlike West ham blah blah blah. I understand West Ham are an old bigger club but are their fans so deluded not to realize that they are a newly promoted team that only came up via the play off's? Years ago they were a good team in the top flight but now they are just another promoted team? I saw them a few times last season on TV and even when we were playing bad we would have beat them. They need to get off the high horse and stop acting like 'billy big Bonds'. Green wanted to leave them because he wants a new challenge and if believes its at QPR then so be it. Had a lot of respect for the 'Ammers' but do they winge?
Im pleased with this. Kenny wasnt good last season for the majority of it and cost us a number of goals. I can list a few but whats the point now.
Goalkeepers go on for much longer than outfield players and many have played well into their late 30's recently. Look at Friedel at Spurs for one example.
Now why did you want to do that! It regularly comes up on the NewsNow feed and having clicked on the link a number of times last season, I can only conclude that the guy who runs the blog is absolutely fixated with QPR. I'm surprised he hasn't given up; he must have been gutted when we stayed up. Only saving grace was WHU scraping up via the playoffs. How many times will we hear next season that Big Sam is getting results without playing 'the West Ham way'.
