Hey listen, I think 99% of our fans have a respect for Stokoe as he did well for us.

One of the good guys. Not in SBR's level as a manager, but up there in the good guy stakes...

True, Bobby will probably being telling him how we were unlucky against Chelsea in 2000, Stokoe will point out he was the last manager to win the Cup for a NE team and that he won the cup with Newcastle. Which Bobby will say he remembers well, with pride.

I just typed a huge rambling message but the auto log-out lost it completely <grr>

Basically, if you can't let mutual appreciation for the sake of football, or perhaps more importantly in this case North East football, transcend local rivalry and boundaries then you cease to be a football fan and become a rival hater. Alot of these people exist on both sides but I tend not to want anything to do with them.

I'd rather befriend a spot on Sunderland supporter than a tosser who happens to support Newcastle. Sounds obvious but I have come across people like this before, sad as it sounds.

    This <ok>
because I come from South Tyneside
alot of people I have grew up with are Sunderland fans
family friends are Sunderland fans. Derby day is obviously about pride and you always want to beat them but violence has no place in football at all
    especailly towards them lot.

Seemed to be more Newcastle fans there, when I was at South Tyneside College. Never had any problems with Sunderland fans I've met.

Which ever one's in Westoe, think it would have been Tyne Dock? Was about five years since I left.
