All due respect but history is probably the worst thing to bring up in an argument. It has no place here. I couldn't care less if we averaged 5 fans in the 1980's, the fact is we don't today. As for the tourists comment. You may not know this but London is full of tourists, you know it being the capital of England and all. People seem to love coming here for Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, London Eye etc. Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham all have tourist supporters too. It comes from being a successful club, which is probably why you don't have any. Most of the overseas fans are following specific players such as Dempsey and Ruiz. I lived with a guy in university last year who was from Morocco and took an interest in QPR as Taraabt played for them which proves my point. Referring to my previous point, a wise man once said that a club which always uses history to win an argument has no future. I give you Liverpool as an example. Try insulting them or King Kenny and they will ram their European Cup's down your throat, despite the fact they finished mid table last year and are a shadow of their former selves.

The irony is that Fernandes claimed Fulham were the model which they were trying to base themselves on. Which must have been a kick in the teeth to Hughes who left us for a more 'ambitious' team, only to find that his previous club were the ones his new club were aspiring to be like.
