You have to remember that the £35m for Hazard and £38m for Hulk will not hit CFC's accounts entirely.

The initial cost is spread of the years of their contracts e.g.

Hulk signs for £38m on a 5 year contract which is £7.6m a year therefore only £7.6m will hit the accounts.

Not only this, FFP allows exclusion of wages for players signed before June 2010 so a lot of Chelsea's top earners/wages won't be included. Even so, Anelka, Drogba, Kalou are all leaving so that will help their books.

Wages aren't counted until 2014 and the rules won't be fully implemented until 2015 so don't expect instant changes, more gradual ones and more towards the end than now.

I still find it very amusing the mancs are depending on the new rules to take te crown from city, they coould well end up further down the pecking order if Di Matteo delivers.

Di Matteo won't deliver though, he's just a submissive John Terry cheerleader masquerading as a manager.

Think you will find the wages will be spread across the five year period not the cost of the transfer, unless this is paid over five years as well

Yes, when Gerrard was playing as an 8 year old in the late 80s...

P.S, why not add Liverpool, United, Villa and Forest to your sig?

No when Dalglish was being Ordered off the pitch by his boss Gerrard.

And I don't care about any of those clubs so why would I have them in my sig? They have no meaning to me or Chelsea FC

Plus his wages thats just the transfer fee and then theres the rest of the squad to think of under FFP, plus all the other mega money signings they will make this summer

This in the french league, where I am guessin the tv money will be infinitly less than what we get off sky

    FFP it aint happenin!!!!!!

I fixed it the day he started using it. Basically, what he is saying, is that Chavski are the least **** team in London, which is an OK statement to make, but compared to the rest of the country, they are on par with Celtic and Villa. Which is about right...

Agreed. you also have to account for wages + bonus, also when does a player (with a massive contract) ever complete the full 5 years on the same salary... look at Suarez 18 months in to his 5 year deal and we're looking to give him a pay rise (probably with loyalty bonus, success bonus & agent fees)

The transfer fees and wages throughout the initial contract will never tell you the complete story

And... say a player is unhappy 1.5 years in to his 5 year contract and wants out, the team will have to sell him (which relieves the financial pressure of that contract) but the side then have to replace a star player and it does no good having a side with a high turnover of players

This attitude with this system gives more power to players and agents.

Fifa need to impose a world wide wage cap - a wage cap but uncapped appearance fees would see the best players spread out as they will want to play for clubs week in week out
