Nope, it's nonsense. Fact is if the gash wern't predicted a top 3 finish, you wouldn't be saying all this and saying it's all rubbish. Bookies are always wrong, like for example 3 years running we've been tipped for relegation.. tell me, which bristol club recently have been relegated? Your best player will be leaving soon, but I can't say your a sinking ship, you sunk ages ago.
You really should read what is written before taking off! 'It doesn't always happen of course' Over here the posts tend to be less arrogant than those from your end. We recognise that our club has had a bad time recently. We all know the punters and the bookies got it badly wrong over the disasterous appointment of Buckle. We would be happy to continue the improvement shown under our new manager. Obviously the appointment of the ex-England manager affected the betting at Leicester. But there are many more cases of where they got it right. Bookie's odds are tweaked around the way most punters bet. I dont think many punters i.e. bookies got it wrong for the Derby!!! Its about time the other side of town recognised that they have very little to be proud of in terms of their recent performances. The only reason they are in the 2nd division is because they have miraculously escaped relegation yet again. Its dubious if they would do much better in the 3rd. All the promoted clubs seem to go straight up through to the Prem. And as I said before, the odds will influence the players who can be attracted to the club!
You're good at this.. "we tend to be less arrogant", try reading chris gasheads post cjs, bluebaldee and in fact everyone on here when you thought you'd storm the league be the "barcelona of the 4th tier" and meet us in league 1, If i went looking through different threads i bet i can find about 100000 of them saying you're going up we're going down. "only reason they are in the 2nd division is because they have miraculously escaped relegation yet again", Brilliantly put, couldn't put it better myself.. You're in the bottom tier of the football league because your.. pants??
i really think bradford are a suprise package next season. look what crewe achieved. it was rumoured the shrews were sniffing around muzzy last month. any one heard any rumours?
Daggers could be worth a punt at 50-1. Finished last season strongly. I hope we do ok. Nothings a certainty though, and Carayol's bound to get snapped up at some point. Is Constable going to et the world on fire??
Honestly think Muzzy will stick around until January then get a really good move to a decent Championship club. He'll be worth £500K+. At the moment I don't think anyone would pay more than half that, so it's really worth him sticking around.
Don't drag me into this. I never predicted we'd romp L2 last season because things like that don't happen to us, regardless of what the bookies say. Sapphire is quite right of course. City are a ****ing shambles considering the resources the club has and how close they came to promotion in their first season in the Championship - absolutely abject. Teds hate talking about the resources they have - 'boo-hoo you're always talking about money/Lansdown etc' - because the simple fact is that they are one of the most underachieving clubs out of the entire 92 when such matters are taken into account. And they're ****s We should be challenging for the top 7 next season, but whether we will depends on who comes in, managerial stability and as Gastro says, whether we retain Muzzy and if we don't, what we do with the money we get for him.
Brilliant.. you gasheads can never make up your mind, we're either overachieving or underachieving.. Everyone knows it gives the sags restless nights that their second fiddle to a team thats "underachieving", am i right saying you spend nearly the highest ammount in league 2, buying 20 players was it?? you surely romped the league and are now preparing for life in the 3rd tier..oh wait.. no doubt you will spend big again this season, complain about the manager then get another 5 on the spin, the proper rovers way.. and i didn't mean to drag you into it.. i was just trying to think of any gasheads who post here on the top of my head.. and lets face it there isn't many of you is there
No, no no - I've always been quite clear that you're underachieving. How on earth can a club that has had tens of millions pumped into it be quite as bad as it is? So you now know what Gasheads expect for 2012-13 - what do you Teds think will happen to you, another season of struggle or is the McMessiah going to deliver Premiership football to Guernsey's finest
Probably the same as you.. mid table finish.. difference is will have the same manager by the end of next season.. will you? thats anyone guess..
Play offs for us - lower mid table for you. But will DM hang around to be seriously constrained by the new financial fairplay rules? That's anyones guess......
Fair enough on the predictions, but will your manager come under pressure for instant success like buckle was? what happens is you lose your first game, would he still be called "king mcghoo"? I doubt that.
No, I don't think that will happen this season. Last season we justifiably high expectations. After the pain and despondency of relegation we had a new manager with a strong reputation who came in with a new brush, swept out the overpaid, underachieving squad that got us relegated in the first place, signed some good players, had a good pre-season and made the right noises in the media. Nobody expected him to turn out to be a useless ****. McGhee has come in and quietly gone about stabilising the club after 12 months of turmoil, steered us calmly to safety and has started getting decent performances out of Buckle's players. He has gone about his business without fuss and drama. Gasheads' rose-tinted specs are well and truly off after such a painful year. If we progress and challenge for the playoffs this season, that will be enough for most of us. The first time we fell into the fourth tier it took us years to get out - hopefully it won't take as long this time, but in order for that to happen, stability is key.
Transfer Rumour site.... 04 Jun 2012 21:21:41 Watford set to sign tricky winger Mustapha Carayol from Bristol Rovers for £600k. Gavin Massey and Adam Thompson to movenine other direction on season long loans. Deal to be completed on Wednesday. Other news, ex Bristol city and Motherwell striker david Clarkson set to join Bristol Rovers, as is central midfielder Kari Arison, previously at Plymouth and Aberdeen.
why do people doubt my sanity when i tip outsiders bantams for a top 7 spot. last season my outsiders for top 7 were crewe!
Jody Morris!!!!! And as I said before, the (betting) odds will influence the players who can be attracted to the club!
Quite right Sapphire. Jody couldn't hack it in the Championship when he was younger, now his legs have gone I'd be surprised if they got 15 games a season out of him. To be honest, I'd be indifferent if he'd signed for us in League 2.
