I heard something similar from a guy who told me Crouch was going to sign, a least a week before he did put pen to paper.
If true, it would be great news.. re he knows Crouchie and visa versa. I DO KNOW he's NOT happy at Spurs so we'll see.

Would be a great signing, but can he run as far as Walters?

Defore can SCORE and run around all day long. NOT saying Walter's isn't OK but DEFOE is different class. We can at least HOPE he might be interested.

I think the fact we've got Palacios, Woodgate and Crouch would help interest him. But even though my lost comment was slightly tongue in cheek, it would be unlike Pulis to play Defoe and Crouch, as I don't think either will track back as well as Jonny.

I said something similar about England the other day, while playing France we looked like Stoke for large periods, sitting back, 2 banks of 4, except when Stoke do it we've always got Walters chasing the ball, and quite often Whitehead breaking rank to put on pressure.

I would be surprised if he chose us over qpr, with their money and location is near where he is now

As some of you have mentioned, he doesn't play well with Crouch.

I have always said that he would be my choice of striker from the english leagues, if he came for the right price trasfer fee and wages wise. However, my utter lack of faith our Managers ability to adapt and re evolve think that even if he did choose to come here (I say that because he will not be short of options, namley, West Ham, QPR & poss Newcastle) we would not see the best of him.

I note the tongue in cheek comment about Walters and you are 100% right, I think he would be preffered over the quicker, sharper better striker! A change of formation would be needed and I wouldn't be adverse to Walters playing the right wing if there are still issues with Pennant or 1 of three forwards!
