QPR FLY OUT TO EURO 2012 TO WRAP UP ROBERT GREEN SIGNING Robert Green has agreed a deal worth about £50,000 a week Wednesday June 13,2012 By Daily Express Reporter Have your say(0) QPR will fly representatives to Englandâs Euro 2012 training camp later this week to complete the signing of West Ham keeper Robert Green. A free agent after rejecting a new offer, Green has agreed a deal worth about £50,000 a week.
are the going to sign him up or have they just got tickets for some games or maybe they are just looking for tips on how to set up a training facility
I can't see where any other keepers are coming from that will challenge the current England 1-2. so if we have him for a couple of years and then snare a great keeper, we will then be able to sell a player we picked up on a free, and for decent money as well. I echo NUTSs comment: He's england #2 - why would we NOT want him, unless we already have our heads up our collective Premier League arses?
Taking into account the huge amount of wages that have been released through the released players at the end of this season - I would be looking at Rob Green as a true 'free' signing. These other players have taken cash out of this club without any serious contribution or uplift of the playing staff. Re-use of this cash availability through a goalkeeper upgrade will make good business for the club - and leave the kitty unused at this stage. Good addition to the squad - and an improvement from last year. That's just what I want to see the club doing over the summer!! Onward and upward!!!!
I just don't rate Green as a top keeper,he always seems too nervous and capable of making an horrendous mistake.Hope he proves me wrong but i will be waiting for the first balls-up to occur and his confidence plummet!
Yes, it's hard to get that Dempsey goal for the USA out of the head. It has to be one of the worst goalkeeping errors I've ever seen, and the timing could not have been worse. But can't condemn a man for one mistake and the Hammers fans think he's wonderful so...we give him a chance
From what I saw of him the year West Ham went down he was quality! For a free transfer you cant argue at all to be fair.
Must admit to not being a big fan of Green, but the Hammers fans are & you'd like to think Hughes back room staff know their keepers. He's good enough & free so they can use the transfer kitty elsewhere.
Well green looks pretty much nailed on, the big question is what other keeper will we get? Surely we aren't only after one keeper if Paddy is off, we weren't happy to use Cerny last year when we needed to so we must be after more than one keeper?
Looks like it's going to be Green, Cerny and Murphy unfortunately, unless Paddy is willing to stay as back up which would be good, and we get rid of Murphy. I'd like to see a better No 1 than Green, and though I thought Cerny did great when he played around Christmas, I agree it is strange that neither Colin or MH played him when Paddy seemed so out of form/ still injured.
