I agree. Our 1st choice Keeper didn't impress last night either. Most in the Pub I was in thought he should have saved the goal, and he seemed to react slowly on a couple of other occasions.

Looked like he still hadn't recovered from the Cisse and Mackie whipping he got last time out to me! Or perhaps he's still celebrating winning something.

I thought Hart was good, that bullet header save was class.
As for the goal he conceded, I really do think his view was blocked by Gerrard causing him to react late.

I love Kenny and the service he has given us, I would prefer him to stay and be number 2 but I don't think he will play second fiddle. Looks like Cerny might be the number 2 now he has extended for the year.
I do think 50k a week for Green is steep but feel that his overall keeping abilities is better than Kenny.

Nasri is quoted as saying he would normally open his foot so the ball would have gone to the opposite corner and instead closed his foot which combined with view being blocked had Hart off guard.

Correct, my French car friend. He dummied the Keeper by pretending to go far corner then went near. Unstoppable shot.

There must be a drop of French blood in you where you're from?

Nothing wrong with Harts performance last night, came for the crosses well, dominate the box. The goal I think he will be a little disappointed but he saw it late.

I always think it's funny how people judge keepers, a keeper can have a great game without pulling off a dramatic save simply by positioning himself correctly, anticipating the game. Knowing when to catch, punch, stay on the line, come out etc, if the do this correctly it looks easy. Most keeper are athletic and can throw themselves around, what makes a good keeper is the decision making and organizing the people in front of him. I really rate Joe Hart, if the press don't take him apart at some time (highly unlikely) I think he'll take Shilton's cap record.

Green had potential but his err small error ! and the press knocked it out of him and it's taken a long time for him to come back, hopeful;ly close to the standard he used to be..we'll be in a good position to asses.

He was definately late off the mark for the goal, and seeing that the ball came through a crowd AND was not where Nasri would normally go for, it's a bit harsh to blame Hart for the goal. His save from the bullet header was superb, and gained us the point, seeing as the only attempt on target we had all evening was our goal.

....Sky Sports understands Queens Park Rangers are closing in on the signing of England goalkeeper Robert Green on a free transfer.

Rangers boss Mark Hughes has made a new goalkeeper one of his top priorities and has been linked with a host of stars, including Ben Foster, Shay Given and Green.

However, it is understood Hughes has opted to pursue a move for Green who is available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at West Ham.

Green, who is currently away on international duty with England at Euro 2012, is looking for a new club after turning down a new deal at West Ham.

West Brom have also been credited with an interest in Green, but it appears QPR are set to win the race for the 32-year-old.

Rangers are prepared to offer Green a four-year contract to lure him to Loftus Road and hope to tie up the deal as soon as possible.

It is thought they are ready to send out officials to Poland and Ukraine next week to finalise the move as they look to make Green their first signing of the summer.

Personally i think it's a pretty good signing. All keepers make mistakes. IMHO Paddy was responsible for at least 5-6 goals this year. At the moment nobody can argue with the fact that he is England's second best keeper. Have we completely lost the run of ourselves that the second best English keeper is not good enough for us. Come on guys. There is not much between Foster, Robinson and Green. If Green is available on a free, it makes good business sense. Despite what some people think we won't be spending tens of millions this summer. If we can pick up a top keeper on the free it means that we will have crucial funds to spend in other problem areas.

Trouble is hes not free, we are paying over the odds on wages which means he turns out just as expensive as paying £4m for a player on slightly less wages.

    barton cost us £13-14m.

Considering the cost and his performances for over a year now, no I would not. He totally shat him himself because he thought someone was going to touch his head.

Flyer, i understand what you are trying to say but in this crazy football world of ours 50,000 a week is actually not that much money for a top Prem player and a current England squad member. To attract top players to our small club we might end up having to pay that extra 5-10 grand a week until we develop our training facilities, stadium and establish ourselves as a Prem club. All things considered, it's a good deal for a good keeper. At 32 his best years will be at our club.

The thing is hes not a top goalie, hes only there because after Hart, we have the worst keepers Ive seen in my lifetime.

Also 4 years is too much for a 32yo, even for a keeper.

Flyer, we will agree to differ on this one. My only concern with this is that our club can only afford to pay 4-5 of our players top money. With Barton and SWP allegedly on big bucks, we need to be careful that we don't end up with too many high earners. All the more reason why Barton and an underperforming SWP must be sold on by any means.

There are other keepers in this World than Foster, Robinson and Green, they don't have to be English either! As someone said Swansea found gold dust in Vorms, Newcastle did similar. I am sure there are better and no more expensive Keepers to be found, and Keeper is a key position! I reckon Lindegaard, ManU and Denmark's no 2 for one is as good as these, and he's younger.

The other thing is we shouldn't believe Green is going to be paid £ 50K a week. I read £40 K a few places and taking a wage cut from Hammers. But the wages talk at least is just paper speculation anyway I reckon.
