thought he was a bit anti english to be honest but to the neutral he was probably very good, i suppose i don't want to see the game through tinted specs, even though i thought cabaye deserved at least a yellow for his persistant fouling and also ribery for his rolling about like a ****ing ******ed cheating ****
Ribery is the most over-rated footballer in the last 20 years. How he is mentioned in the same vein as some of the worlds top players is beyond me. He is cow shat and a cheating cow shat as well.
The ref allowed the French defenders to constantly foul our forwards. Let the play go for blatant Free kicks and avoided booking French players at all costs. As the game went on I was convinced he was going to lose us the game. Maybe we just don't do well in these tournaments as continental refs don't get us and we don't get them. Shoving and using your upper body seems more acceptable, the French got away with that all day long!
Ribery is crap, Benzema is overrated, Cabaye is dirty (although I still love him), their centre halves are poor. We should have got at them, they were there for the taking.
He was blatantly biased toward the French. He waved play on to French fouls that he gave yellow cards to the English. Cabaye could have had a yellow card 3 times in the first half alone.
I thought he was OK at first. But he had a bad patch in the second half when he overlooked some dodgy French tactics. Overall, I've seen a lot worse than him. Agree with the comments about Ribery, though. Overrated and defo the unacceptable face of world football...
Er no tinted specs mate. He was a cheating twat. It was blatant and I thought Gerrard did well to not react after the game and ensure further poor decisions. I think we're gonna get a rough ride and I suspect foul play to be honest. I never like to moan and whine about refs but it got out of hand last night, particularly when he was treating identical fouls differently.
Exactly this, even the commentators were alluding to it, they were scared of ox, young and welbeck on the break. Felt with a bit more support from Gerrad and Parker we could have been onto something but they barely ventured into the French half, saying that if they did could they get back in time?
Saw an interview with Roy Hodgson and they were asking about his decision to include Oxlade-Chamberlin and he said something along the lines that it was to try to hit them on the break with pace - he also said that on the 2-3 occasions he did get away he was brought down. The only suprise to me with that game was the ref did not manage to include a pen for France cheating **** - on another 'note' wasn't it good to watch an England game without having to listen to that stupid band playing "come on England" and "the Italian Job"
