Spurs star eyes QPR switch please log in to view this image DAVID Bentley has issued a come-and-get-me plea to QPR boss Mark Hughes. The Tottenham winger has suffered mightily since he left Blackburn for White Hart Lane in 2008 on the back of a massive £15million fee. But Hughes, who landed Rovers the cash windfall as a result of turning the winger into an England player at the same time, is seen as the saviour to revive a career beset with a serious knee injury last season on loan at West Ham. And the Chronicle understand the 27-year-old, who has a year remaining on his contract, would jump at the chance of rejoining the Welshman and pulling on a QPR shirt. A source said: âSparky made David a great player, and he was happiest at Blackburn when the two were there together.â http://www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/london-qpr/2012/06/11/spurs-star-eyes-qpr-switch-82029-31157329/
If there's a chance of getting the David Bentley we saw at Blackburn then I'd say "yes". For a fleeting moment he was the answer to an ageing Beckham in the England side. Personally, I'd prefer Bentley to Dyer, if we're talking about gambles within the squad.
“Sparky made David a great player, and he was happiest at Blackburn when the two were there together.” Cue a soft focus picture of them together inside a cheesy love heart. Perhaps we could get him to keep Der company once Faurlin gets fit.
Bentley doesn't meet the calibre of player required for ' New Rangers. ' Those days are now behind us gents. I expect us to make 3 or 4 quality signings.
Didnt he once say hw was the best winger / forward in the league......? Can you imagine him, Joey and Tarbs all together? They'd be scratching each others eyes out and swinging the handbags all day... No thanks
