I agree we need some experience, but i'd say McKenna did a good job in the centre. For me the experience needs to be in defence for whilst Hobbs is out and as cover along with Coops, a winger, a striker and obviously we need a keeper but i'd be happy with Gordon or Mannone despite Vito not having that experience. If Dawson goes then a full back or two is a must as well.
If Dawson goes we've literally got Rosy & Dudge. I'd like another one on each side as so we can afford an injury or two.
I know we expect Macca to go but he hasnt yet and he's played both positions for us. And before anyone says, I like Macca. He's far too easily blamed in the trait our 'fans' have of always having a boo-boy.
I hadn't forgotten Macca, i genuinely don't want him in the team and hope he goes to another team. Though i should have at least mentioned him in my post i suppose.
All about opinions but for me he really isnt as bad as everyone makes out and he suffers from the fact we always have to have one target for fans hatred. If he goes who next for the vitriol? The new keeper would be my guess (if he isnt Vito). It really is pathetic the way we cant just support whoever wears the shirt. Oh, and I'm not suggesting you give him a hard time here, you might keep it to yourself. I meant our 'fans' in general.
As you say it's all about opinions, and besides the moans and groans when a mistake is made by anyone i don't
I'd accept the premise that once a player starts gets some stick, then he can never seem to get anything right and the fans are on his back too much. But I'm not sure that's true of McShane, most people like him for his commitment and he's fairly popular, but he simply makes too many mistakes. I don't think he's expecting to be playing for us next season and that's fine by me.
Did you go to the Burnley away game? That was possibly one of the worst come back performances from a defender i have ever seen. I was a huge fan of him before that game but he couldn't judge a ball, he over ran everything, Burnley literally created a chance every time they went down that wing.
I think they would be great players to sign on loan, they are really good, if Man Utd was to want to let go of them then you could be in with a chance of signing them.
These two could be ideal loan signings. Keane would give us cover at back, and Tunncliffe more depth in centre. Very happy if we signed them. I dont count them as part of 4 or 5 players we need, I think Bruce means permanent signings been these. We definately need: Gk - Mannone must be a top priority, ideal No 1, would also offer Guzan a deal too Winger - Need another winger that we own, King has been mentioned, would go with that 2 x forwards, I think both Simpson and Macca will be off, both need replacing, imagine an old head and a younger player (again my call would be Waghorn) I would then look for another winger/forward If we took Keane, Tunncliffe, another keeper (assuming we dont take two on permanently), another experienced CB to cover for Hobbs on loan, I would be pretty happy As for McShane, committed hard worker who gets a lot of stick, the sticking point is his wage, for his ability we cannot justify his wages.
Problem is, SAF likes his loanee to play first team football. Tunnicliffe I can easily see in the McKenna role, but who will drop out for Kean? He is relatively small in stature so I cannot see him replacing the injured Hobbs. We can't afford two non-tall centrebacks.
Nup, I didnt but Ive seen all my favourite players have absolute nightmares. Yes Macca has more than his fair share but I just cant help but like the guy for what he has made of himself - lmited talent, one thousandth of natural ability of other players yet he earns 28k a week, has dozens of caps and is playing at the European Championships. He's an example of where hard work will get you.
I think he's more an example of what happens when, as a nation, you have no decent footballers. McShane and St Ledger wouldn't make most squads outside of perhaps San Marino or Saint Kitts.
I totally aggree with what you said about hard work but i wouldn't take him in league one after his two appearances last season, thats all i am saying. So mine was just in relation to what affects my club not what is in affect a top bloke, but him as a footballer.
Absolutely no idea and it's hardly relevant, I've seen almost every game McShane has played for us, including the Burnley game(which was quite simply the worst performance I've ever seen from a City player, far worse than the Danny Coles debacle) and he's just not good enough. I'm pleased you like him, I'm sure he's pleased too, but I'm afraid he's a ****e footballer, which is precisely why we can't get rid of him.
How many premier league games has Francis Jeffers, Michael Ricketts played? Pretty sure they where and are god damn awful footballers to that someone how played at the top level. Even for England.
