ok so how do the subs work in simple english please? i made 2 subs this evening because the 2 players are playing tomorrow...and i replaced them on the subs bench with 2 players that played today. can i make subs as and when required? and at the end of the tournament....do we tot up the points of our best 11? because when i took my 2 players out...the points they had accumulated were taken off.
Manager substitutions After all matches on a single day have finished and before the next matches start, you can: Replace any player who wasn't sent off, with one from your bench whose team is yet to play. Change your captain if he wasn't sent off, with a player from your squad whose team is yet to play. Players who are substituted out will score 0 points, the captain bonus will be lost from your original captain if a new captain is selected. Substitutions and captain changes can't be cancelled once confirmed. An unlimited number of manager substitutions can be made, however, it is not possible to make manager substitutions after games on the last day of the Matchday, as all fixtures will have been completed. If a manager substitution or captain change is made then no automatic substitutions will take place on your team that Matchday.
so basically the way this works, is that if you sub a player, the player you took out of the team loses his points so its a risk as you're hoping the player you sub in will do better but this can be good if you have a player that has a mare! Also if you change your captain then the captain bonus is also lost from the previous player.
well thats a pointless ruling in that case as you may aswell just pick your starting 11 and be dne with it...
you just lose points for that matchday, so say you sub out a player in matchday 2, you just lose the points he gained in matchday 2 and not his previous matchday points.
Well I just lost three points by bringing in Marchisio for Montolivo. Should've checked the small print...
i have checked the small print and still dont get it..i brought in Jelavic and Alba for VDV and V persie....lost 6 points in total...and think i might make a transfer...
Just think of the game as broken down into "match days" so your best to make any transfers once the first round of games have ended. If in the next round of matches you have a player that scores 2 points but you sub him out, you lose them two points and the player you transfer in replaces him and scores points instead.
I didn't lose any points when bringing in Dzagoev and Rommedahl, but did when bringing in Marchisio. Or I did, but didn't notice, which means I'm nine points down...
Maybe the players you transferred out were on 0 points as they hadn't played yet? but any player subbed out within a matchday will lose his points for that matchday. Remember you have your "wildcard" so at the start of any match day you can change your entire team and you still keep your points from the previous matchday.

Anyone else think the assistant manager is there to ruin things? It's one thing to advise gambling on goalkeepers, but replacing a striker with a defender because the defender plays first? Errm...yeah, I think I'll ignore that advice.
