Seb an 8/10 ? Should of been a 9/10 in my opinion. Gets pole by the largest distance in the season with the weakest RB car he has had in his career on their bogey track. Out qualified webber by over half a second. Considering gaps of 3 tenths at the start of this year would kick you out of Q2 that was massive at Canada. Pushed it on every lap and didn't bin it, where as it looked like Lewis and Alonso were holding back at the start, yet keeping up regardless how full on Seb went. He also gets done by the 1 stop strategy losing a podium, but got in front of Alonso with the only real overtake at the hairpin and also sets the fastest lap at the end. Come on! RBR could paint a cardboard box blue and people would say it was the best car in the grid when it isn't. Seb maxed the car out just like Lewis and Alonso, it's just Ferrari and McLaren are able to maintain the tyres longer.
Cool thats an interesting table you've got there (I was going to say it was absolutely glorious but I couldn't bring myself to do it.
By the way could Schumacher actually get any more unlucky, its laughable. We all say we can't predict anything anymore in 2012 but I think I might put a bet on a meteoroid puncturing all 4 of his tyres as the start lights go out in Valencia
I don't see how Vettel was any worse than Alonso, or how Perez was any worse than Grosjean and Hamilton. The biggest insult though has to be Karthikeyan being given a five.
Grosjean drove 50 laps on one set of tyres, Perez did less. Though I do think it's a somewhat harsh nine, if such a concept exists. Hamilton drove a flawless race, overtook Alonso after the first round of stops and did it the hard way though that said Alonso and Vettel's race engineers did their best to gift it to him. Also, really good to see de la Rosa get recognition!
No No, James murdoch is a daddys boy and not the direct cause of my distress yesterday. Somebody else can smash his nuts in, my target is Rupert
ah, my dypraxia kicking in, L/R I still don't know the difference even though many tried to beat it into me,
To be fair to Michael, in some ways you could argue he deserves it. I don't know how much this statement is influenced by how young I was when he was dominating, but I felt all the luck went his way and he is finally getting his comeuppance, again I don't have any facts to back this up, its just what I feel. In terms of the front three, I thought the cars had the same race pace (obviously Red Bull slow in a straight line, but made up for it being fast in corners)
What let down once in Spain counts for the whole season? Whilst Ros was falling back in Oz Michael was grappling for 3rd. Whilst Msc was clipped out, he carried on for 10th and Nico finished out of the points. Whilst Msc was in 2nd, he had a wheel failure from the pits. In Bahrain, the DRS was stuck at the end of his flying lap, and then a gearbox change. In Spain, it was his fault. In Monaco, he gained a pole. But the punishment from Spain demoted him rightfully. In Canada, the team brought him in early with Di-Resta which was the wrong desicion, stuck in traffic for the rest of the race as well as another DRS failure, in quali beforehand Michael wanted to perform 2 laps, the second being the better. And the team sent him out too late for him to set his flyer. So Michael has let down Mercedes how else accept from Spain, and he still protects them infront of the media. Better off at Ferrari. At least in Ferrari Michael had the performance to match the imaginary "luck" he was gaining. In Mercedes, they are letting down a more complete driver for a lesser driver that has his fathers name and one win to back him up. Don't bite me for this, but from the stats this season, it is true.
Bolded the important part of my original statement. Rosberg has consistently fluffed it in qualifying all season when he's had a shot at pole. I also don't think the team are completely to blame for Bahrain, he qualified 18th in what appeared to be the fastest car and made a big error at turn 4 I think it was. Even without DRS he should've been outqualifying Kovalainen.
Schumacher's bad luck this season has been quite extraordinary. Mercedes need to get their act together and sort out the reliability of the car as it's becoming a joke. If you look at Schumacher's DNF's this season, only one was his fault. He could quite easily be on 50 plus points this season had it not been for the poor reliability of the car.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/18427377 Of course Gary Anderson's most likely forgot more about F1 than I'll ever know.. but to claim/assume that Alonso and Vettel would have won the GP if they pitted afterwards is, I find a bit simplistic? I’m sure once Hamilton passed Alonso and Vettel, he simply started to match the times Grosjean was doing, also, on the final lap he went into “bring the car home” mode as well as coasting over the finish line, whilst the others were still racing at full pelt, which bought the final finishing times a lost closer then they may have been had Hamilton raced to the finish. Also, I think Alonso and Vettel said themselves that even if they reacted earlier to Hamilton’s second stop, he still had the pace in the car to win. Not having a dig at Anderson, I really like his insight but he’s most likely had Benson ghost write this article for him!
Nah the second Lewis got in front it was over, I'm very sure he had reserves to use if it came to it as the tyres were holding well on that McLaren.
