While I know he had a good season, the best out of the England defenders it was all down to Kompany. Hes a competent defender and nothing more. Other countries would probably fold if they had to select him, Carroll, Henderson, Downing and co..... **** even Scotland wouldnt select them.

No its not. Lescott was a liability all season and has been since he first played for City. Awful defender who wouldnt get in most top clubs reserves.
United took a stronger team to goal difference over the course of a season with Ferdinand in the team most of the time (he only played half a dozen games less than Lescott). So using your logic... Ferdinand>Terry, Cahill, Jagielka And as Jones played right back in that team for most of the season I guess it's Jones>Johnson and Kelly.

Why its true. Lescott is just a defender, nothing more. Slightly better than Bramble but a world away from the top defenders. Any time city were under threat Kompany sorted it....when Komapny was out last season......City fell apart and Lescott was shocking. I think I have made my point.

I dont think he does, the level below. Could make it there though. De Gea is on a similar level, take into consideration its his first season in england and considering he outdid some of those on that list, hes not quite at Harts but by the ned of next season that could change. Spain are one lucky country, world class midfielders galore and top class keepers aswell.

Watch Cahill. The lad is no slouch when it comes to pace and can defend. But for me as a defender he is quite comfortable with the ball. Far more than Lescott and Terry are.
