Who, not a major star, have you liked in some spots we need? I liked Pilar for the Czechs, I thought he was very creative out wide, pretty strong and was a terror for Russia. Mandzukic today was very good, big man that could hold the ball up and looked pretty skillful. Didn't like his diving and time wasting but a good player. If we need a LB for cover why not Stephan Ward? Wolves were relegated and could do a job, bridge the gap for Robinson and provide backup or competition for Enrique. Anyway, anyone else stand out to you that was not a major name or one gem we all know about (Dzagoev for example).
Krohn-Dehli had a great game for the Danes I thought overall, busy and always causing problems - his goal was quality also (despite the comentators saying it was a lucky finish to go through the legs of the keeper, if Ronaldo had scored that, it would have been a 'clinical' finish or some ****). Blaszczykowski likewise looked useful in the middle for Poland, hope we don't sign him though, cba finding how to spell his name all season.
Blaszcykowski goes by Kuba and it is normally on his kit Who was the LWB for Italy today? He was handy as well. Maggio on the right is a beast as well.
Torres all way..... He looked like scoring every time he got the ball... At least Torres can take comfort in Van Persie having a dreadful game. Now being serious. Hollands left back. I did not catch his name but he is the youngest person to play at the Euro's. He looked good. Calm, composed, hard working, confident on the ball. Could be worth looking into. Though he must be about the same age as Robinson.
I know it's all rumours but what do you guys make of this? http://www.dailystar.co.uk/posts/view/256023/Liverpool-plotting-15m-move-for-Daniel-Sturridge/
Seems like an obvious player to target. Quick strong, young and scores goals. Ends up on the bench a lot at Chelsea, and with all these big signings Chelsea are making he could look to leave. With Arsenal, United and City sorted for strikers, we could stand a good chance of signing him.
Doubt it will happen to be honest, if rumours are to be believed we had our chance in the Torres deal and blew it, coulda, woulda, shoulda!
I'm a big fan of Sturridge, he was getting stick from the Chelsea fans last season on occasion so I don't think he would turn down a move. Would cost a lot though.
I do agree, whilst I understand what Shanks is saying I have to agree more with what Jk has said. He'd certainly improve us and is only 22(?) years of age, plenty of potential and I reckon he'd leave as he'd get first team football with us.
I reckon we might, it's not as if they need the money and they need cover for him. I'd like to think he'd leave and they'd accept 15m for him.
I hope you're right, he's one for the future. He tends to make the odd mistake at the moment but he will improve.
I think the Chelsea fans on here go on about how he's greedy at times but that's just cause he wants to impress, I think he'll fit in well with the pass and move style of play that Rodgers will get us playing.
