We've seen it with Chelsea, Man City and now PSG, this is a sad idicment on the game, when any owner from the world can buy any club and make them a big one, i know its their money and they have the right of course but, with the ffp coming in, these 3 clubs i've mentioned will have to watch what they spend this summer in terms of signing players, we've seen Hazard going to Chelsea for £32miliion pounds, i don't know how that works with the ffp in place, thats alot of money on an unproven youngster. We hardly heard of these owners 10 years ago, now they are eveywhere, sacking managers for not winning the league, they don't care about the game, all they are bohtered about is their money, i can see alot of people walking out on football in the next few years, with the way its going at the moment.
Matth tbh putting aside the banter, City, Chelsea and PSG are not small clubs. An example of a small club playing in the top flight of football with all due respect is Wigan, not any of those clubs you have mentioned. Also Hazard while £32 million is a lot and he is a money grabbing so and so, he is hardly unproven. He has played almost 150 times for Lille, won Ligue player and young player of the year twice (both awards) and featured almost 30 times for his country.
Fair enough, but the last time we did that was when we got Rooney for £28 million pounds ( correct me if i'm wrong ), also PSG spent alot of money on Pastore, which i admit i haven't seen much of.
According to Lequipe, PSG are about to sign Thiago Silva, another player i've heard of, i don't know the fee.
This. Also "we hardly heard of these owners 10 years ago"? Jack Walker? John Hall? And further back John Houlding, John Henry Davis, and James Gibson. Rich owners are hardly a new thing, the only difference is that the amount of money in the game has gone up, and so has the amount of money the owners need to invest to buy success.
If you mean the last time we spent a lot of money on a player, well Berbatov cost £30.75 million. If you mean on a young player, Rooney cost around £25 million with some add on's. He was also only 18 when he signed, a few years younger than Hazard and with considerably less first team experience.
De Gea - second most expensive keeper ever. Young - 18million Jones - 18million Smalling - 10million ( alot when you consider he was playing non league a year before ) We spend when we have to not for the sake of it.
the reason why his price went up because he was at euro 2004 and had a good tournament until he got injured, on Berbatov, we paid too much for him, not his fault, in my opinion, i think he's done well with us, considering he didn;t haver pre-season training in his first season at United.
You two mods should of known when you came into this thread you were going to have to inform meth that everything he said is wrong as you have already pointed out. Even as far back as the early 20th century rich business owners were buying and bailing clubs out, including United.
Milan have apparently already told Man City and Barcelona that he's not for sale so I doubt PSG will be getting him unless they pay an obscene amount of money.
I heard that a couple of weeks ago, it will be hypocritical of them to selling him to PSG despite telling the clubs you mentioned that he wasn't for sale.
PSG get linked with everyone simply because they are the French Man City and it makes for a good headline, the rags were even speculating that they were readying a £100million bid for Rooney only a week or two ago.
PSG, Anzhi, Malaga wont be buying anyone for big money City and Chelsea have a small bit of room after winning the 2 big trophies last season. Chelsea dont have the ability to spend £100million though and nor do City. This is of course if any of them value their status as existing football clubs. Anzhi probably dont.
Why do you say all they are bothered about is their money? It's the opposite; They are happy to spaff it away on football. And who is walking away from football?
