Take a look at this headline from May 20 - seems Liverpool may have been sniffing Laudrup out as well... http://www.totalfootballmadness.com/2012/05/20/michael-laudrup-keen-to-hear-from-liverpool/
I remember Laudrup being a great player, but just watching him on YouTube I'd forgotten how amazing he actually was - some true genius in his play. I remember thinking at the time that he was not nearly as good as Maradonna but watching this makes me re-evaluate my words. Some of his moves make me laugh because they are so good. A real football genius. My favourite part : look at the defenders reaction at 3:43 after Laudrup passes him - knows there's nothing he can do. Made me laugh out loud. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oXH8F-MGpU
So if Laudrup does well for us next season and Brendan does badly at Liverpool, then Laudrup could be off to Liverpool to replace Brendan?
I imagine there'll be lots more once it's officially announced. We also had yet another 'next manager' post and that was made a Sticky. So much inconsistency on this forum. Many complaining about duplicate threads, yet some duplicate threads are being made into Stickys. You couldn't make it up. LOL. And the strange thing is that the sticky posts aren't even that popular. So a bit of manipulation going on.
Laudrup to Swansea to Liverpool? Aaarrgh not again. Duplicate posts are tedious but there's a lot worse that happens on this forum.
I don't think it will happen because I think Brendan will do quite well at Liverpool. So hopefully we can keep Laudrup for a few years.
Laudrup was a very talented player,up there with the very best. He was so good, reminded me a lot of Lee Trundle. But could he do the shoulder roll like LT?
Wow, found the time to watch that Laudrup video this morning - he really was ridiculously good. Balance, vision, control, flair, finishing - he'd have a hell of a lot that he could pass onto our young players! My favourite bit on the video has to be his silky skills at 7:47 - close ball control while under pressure and still producing the skills! Fantastic.
Truly how the beautiful game should be played. One thing I noted in particular - look how a lot of his passes were made for him by some superb running off the ball by his team mates. He can't transfer his personal skills and flair to our players but if he can coach that sort of support, movement and pace of play to go with what we've got, boy will we have a potent team. Whoever we employ is going to be a risk but if the chemistry is right and our players buy into what he's about, the future looks bright.
Great players don't always make great managers, no experience of the english leagues either, managerial anyway, could be risky
Worth the risk though surely, his name alone could attract new players we may be interested in and possibly convince Siggy to sign, his managerial career hasn't been too bad so far either.
Yes possibly, but that depends how big a budget he would be given, as some of your fans have already said it won't be huge, so he would need to be able pay these names as well as attract them, mind you he may know a few cheap gems in the leagues he has worked in i'll give you that.
You do realise he has a decent track record in management already do you? Please do your research before posting ****e.
Well he has done pretty good so far with the teams he has managed. He doesn't need experience of the english leagues just the shared philosophy in the way we play which his other teams seem to do. Thats what sets us apart from other teams when choosing a manager. He needs to fit in with our style of play and hopefully improve it. As opposed to other teams where they will bring in a coach who will style the team to what they think will work. Much like yourselves a la Sousa Warnock Hughes etc 3 different types of managers with different ways of playing. We are pretty much playing the same way no matter who has been here.
