For the first time in years I am feeling positive for the new season, the worst is behind us now and I can only see an improvement this season. All is new at PAFC and I see this coming season as a new beginning, I'm hoping for a play-off position but would be happy(ish) to see us climb to mid table - small beginnings and all that. What I really couldn't cope with is another season of crapping ourselves over relegation.

James Brent seems to be spending wisely which can only be a good thing so long as we get a few players in to fill our weak areas - looks like he is already making headway on that, one or two unproven but gifted players or failing that loanees will do nicely.

The prospect of playing our two local rivals is an exciting bonus and virtual guarantees of good gates which can only be good for us, even without this gates were very good by L2 standards last season - the second best in the league by all accounts, who knows they could be even better this season if others are feeling as positive as me!

As it's so quiet right now and I guess some of the squad are back from their hols I can't help but wonder what is going on behind the scenes. COYG!

Anyone who has a wooden leg, an eye patch and a parrot is not to be trusted by anyone..........trust me.

I'm always positive before the season kicks off. No quite so upbeat after 10 games sometimes maybe but at least I start that way. The season ticket sales seem to be going ok so no reason to believe crowds won't be as good as last term. We need a few more signings but generally I'm not unhappy with dealings so far. For me it is a case of lets have one season without turmoil and sweating. Anything else better than that will be a bonus but I'm not going to put an anchor around the clubs neck by insisting it is promotion or nothing.

sensible........you forgot the crutch.........you need that to beat the Parrot into submission......Parrots can get above their station in life and think that they are in charge.

I think I heard of a case like that in Plymouth........some dear old lady.....Argyle supporter.......keen on tennis as well.....slaving away, cleaning it's cage faithfully every weekend........the pesky bird doesn't raise a feather to help her........and refuses to return to to it's cage when asked........it is a shame.....it is obvious who is in charge......paying her back for daring to have a few days away with her foriegn friend I would think.

I couldn't mention where her friend came from sensible........because I know you get well uptight with people from that country......have a nice day (small clue there sensible).

Mrs LaLa....I'm pleased that your feeling positive about the coming season.

Just one small problem........the new season generally follows a time of summer......a time of sun and hot balmy days....which helps to recharge the batteries to face the coming winter and any problems that Argyle will throw in your path.......you just dip into your reserves of summer rejuvenation to help you through.

The problem this year is we have a government that can get nothing right.........roughly two months ago they threw a hose ban at us.....and ever since the weather has been cold and very wet.........I think my hose has floated off somewhere down the bottom of the garden.....seeing I lent my arm floats to one of the granchildren I feel it is not safe for me to venture that far from the back door without them.

Today Monday 11th of June in the year of our dear Queens diamond jubilee... 2012........weather report.........The rain has been falling steadily since Sunday 5pm....the time now is 9-30 am the next day.......I can see through the gloom that it is still raining......the rain is noticeable because it is splashing on the the pond (we don't have a proper pond) that is getting bigger and bigger on the lawn (only managed to cut the grass twice this so called summer) and the grey sky means we need the lights on to see my bitesize shredded wheat. Even worse we have been contemplating turning the damn heating on in FLAMING JUNE......which horrifies me to even consider.

So I blame the weather on the government....the hose ban is one of the few decisions that they havn't reversed......I expect that they are to busy playing with their duck houses on their country estate ponds to care too hoots about the rest of us (sorry about the unintended pun......hoots/ducks)..... brought a smile to my face when I noticed it.

So Mrs LaLa......as I said before my ramble began ....I'm glad that your feeling positive about the new season.....but at present.....KEEP IT TO YOURSELF COS I DON'T WANT TO KNOW.......I just want to put on my little shorts and sit in my hot balmy garden and read a book with a long cold drink.

Today.... Tuesday 12th of June in the year of our dear Queens diamond jubilee....2012.......weather report.......stopped raining roughly 10am.......went for a walk, main road flooded.....manhole cover forced off....water spouting about two foot in the air........walked through local woods and was confronted with streams of water pouring out of the woods over pathway into the river that runs parallel to path....ended up having to walk through three inches plus of water to get to my destination.....spent the rest of the day with soaking wet feet.........staying in tomorrow.

But at my age you just fall for a flutter of the eyes and then it's too late.
