So Jerel, clearly I've made a good argument because you went to great lengths to dissect it. Sorry, I ****ing hate Bates and want him out, so I've stopped spending money on Leeds United. I will not, however, try and create unrest. I simply do not believe that players or investors have approached LUST. If investors have, they may be local businessmen thinking there is an easy opportunity if they use LUST, but I can't see a millionaire investor/consortium speaking to LUST, ESPECIALLY if there is a confidentiality clause in place. Nice one Einstein!! Your rant is emotional, and that's fine, I'm trying to get to the point of TRUTH in this statement, because it just doesn't seem plausible at all. Best case scenario - Bates ****s off!! Worst case scenario - we have a dressing room full of players looking at each other wondering what twats went and spoke to LUST on their behalf, and it all goes tits up. I do not believe this statement has any credibility whatsoever, and if it is true it should have been kept quiet because it is damaging information to the CLUB. Bates, as we know, doesn't give a ****, and the ONLY pressure he will feel is if Leeds play to crowds of 4000 at Elland Road. That's the only protest he will understand, not this pathetic mud slinging by LUST.
I'd a) TRUST LUST over Bates anyday b) SUPPORT LUST over Bates anyday c) BELIEVE in LUST over Bates anyday......the matter of the fact is LUST are fans just like us who want LUFC to be progressive and ambitious. Maybe they are over exaggerating their role in the takeover negations and their contact with the investors and players or maybe their not.....we have no proof to say there not the real deal and legit, just speculation. Now until someone gives me proof that the LUST have lied, tried to deceive the fans or aren't the real deal I will continue to follow plan A, B & C.
Billys - I think you have made yourself look a knob here. I don't remember you having a go at Snodgrass for openly slating the club and regime in place, nor the manager, both of whom have made demands. I don't see you slamming the yep for its latest piece claiming frustration because they contacted sources close to leeds united players and reported the same thing. Am with Jerel on this 100%. As for contacting lust to overthrow Gary cooper! Your charisma is oozing from every pore. I can feel it.
The players we currently have didn't come to Leeds United for the money, they came because winning promotion to the PL with Leeds United would immortalise them in a career most of them would spend in relative anonymity around the upper reaches of the NPC and lower reaches of the PL (this is the good players I'm referring to now obviously). Currently they aren't getting the money they could get elsewhere or the ambition and possibility of glory they came to Leeds for, and on top of this they don't know what's happening with their futures or those of their team-mates and are being treated like **** by the board. Frankly I'm not surprised they've said something, and I'm not surprised they've asked to remain anonymous either, they may have an unhealthy obsession with Nando's but they're not that stupid.
You've made a verbose, pompous and potentially infectious one; that's why I gave it the time of day. If they did speak to LUST, it was before entering negotiations, so there wouldn't have been any gagging orders at that time. Your unfounded implication that LUST are lying about this is just ridiculous. They're a government-accredited organization, and have an awful lot to lose by being proven wrong - and if they have been lying, they certainly could be. Far more to lose from that than they'd gain by registering a few new members after the publicity. Their motive is side before self, unlike yours, I suspect. The truth of the statement is already there. You're looking for something that doesn't exist. I know decades of supporting the Whites breeds a certain skepticism, but LUST have no track record of bullshitting, everything suggests they're telling the truth, and there's nothing to say that there aren't still footballers who care about this football club. As with any human, they obviously care about their pay packet too, but even looking at press soundbites from Snodgrass, White, Parker Clayton and doubtless others, it's clear they're disenfranchised with Bates, and that doesn't just mean he isn't coughing up enough dough. They're not thick, and nor are us fans. The club is finally becoming united against Bates, but yet people still niggle and doubt and tarry to chip away at the Trust that's making it all tick. It's already gone tits up. We finished FOURTEENTH. Warnock wants to shift half our squad, and the ones remaining might all be sold anyway. Morale is already at rock motherfucking bottom. I've already mentioned those players that have publicly stated their disillusionment - well how is this statement any different? If there are Bates lovers in the squad, **** them, they're damaging both their own ambitions and those of the club. There isn't going to be any rancour in the changing room. And once again, you forget the impact fans can have in your worst-case scenario. Do you not seriously think that this would make Bates' position untenable? And if so, please give me some sort of factual argument for why that's the case. When you've got mud in your hand and the enemy is standing before you, what, you just stand there and drop it pathetically, sink on your knees and accept defeat? Good one. No, you rake up as much dirt as you can and you wang it straight at the ****er's face. Especially when you've been passed that mud by the blokes who you support and stand for, who are fighting the same enemy as you. If the Trust didn't release this and the info about the club's takeover talks, they'd be in the ****. People like you would be cynically questioning their motives after the conclusion of talks or after the players went to the YEP instead, saying that the Trust are useless and out of the loop, disconnected with the squad and the inside info floating around the club. They'd have no more ammo for the Campaign for Change. These leaks have created a contingency plan that is desparately needed for if everything blows up in typical Leeds/Bates fashion. I repeat: a good move from the Trust, and long live the current Chairman.
I think those are the players BS was referencing when he said they'd be pissed off at the others for speaking out against Bates!
Look, I am saying that I don't like "revelations" coming from the dressing room, no matter what the situation. I refuse to support Bates financially, its the only way to get him out. It ****ing hurts me not going to games, but until Bates goes I will boycott Leeds United. I have followed this club since 1965, and since Ridsdale did his best to destroy us in favour of his ego I have been suffering along with hundreds of thousands of Whites fans across the globe. So, I am saying LUST are wrong, but because we are desperate for change some people actually applaud LUST. Not me! What on earth must Warnock think? Can you imagine this happening at Scum? One thing Fergie is good at is keeping his dressing room on their toes and together. How can Warnock build a united, strong dressing room with this crap coming out? These "players" who contacted LUST can **** off, I don't want rotten apples at Leeds. If they believe they can get better deals elswhere, hand in a transfer request, and good luck because clubs don't have money and there hasn't exactly been a queue outside ER trying to sign our players. Damn unprofessional if players did contact LUST to try and engineer better deals, doesn't add up, And then there's the investors. I don't believe its the millionaire foreign ones who would have contacted LUST, as I've said maybe local businessmen. As a member of LUST I would expect that I can question their decisions and not follow blindly, just like I question Bates. Attacking me personally for not agreeing with LUST is no better than the way Bates behaves. I am not happy with this statement from LUST, I think its unprofessional and in bad taste, lacks class and composure. If this is how LUST will behave in future then maybe the people making these decisions are not the right people to lead LUST. Bates must go, but there are better ways of getting his attention without pushing the self-destruct button.
I'm starting to doubt how "independent" LUST are.... When Bates first came to Leeds he declared open season on the original supporters club (LUSC). I would not be surprised if Bates was behind LUST in some way to give the fans false information and hope. It might just be fake investors introduced by Bates to LUST to make it seem that the "Morons" are the reason we do not get investment. Or is the current discontent a cover to justify widespread squad reduction etc. I know I am been over sceptical but I just don't trust anything new to happen in or around Elland Road following Ken Bates arrival..
No probs Jerel, we all bleed White and I'm not here to pick fights, I just want the best for Leeds. I think LUST are good for the club and supporters, which is why I joined. It really hurt me to read that statement, because it showed me that we may have players who don't care about the club but only about their pockets. So Warnock is right to dig his heels in, he must have seen something in the dressing room he didn't like and now he's saying to players bugger off if you won't play your heart out for Leeds.
BS- as stated in my first post, LUST will make mistakes on the way. That's only natural. I don't believe this is a mistake, but I am happy to accept you think so. But your response to this apparent mistake is to take your bat and ball home and go from being pro-LUST to anti-LUST. I think you have over-reacted in the extreme and have deserved to receive some reaction - some may call over-reaction - inresponse. Suggest you lighten up and think about it in the cold light of day: a) LUST produced their Vision Statement. b) LUFC tells LUST to get stuffed, won't deal with them despite their credentials and links throughout football, local and national political leaders, national fans organisations, past players; LUFC hires PIs to research and follow the leaders, slags them off incessantly in the "official" match programme, prevents the leaders from purchasing tickets, calls them (and us) morons, and tells LUST that if they want new owners, they should put their money where their mouths are and find some credible potential new owners c) LUST continue with protests, but with the hiring of Warnock, call off all further action d) LUFC promise Warnock the financial backing he needs to build a squad e) LUFC offer Snodgrass a contract to make him the best paid at LUFC, with a promise from Warnock that he will personally find him a club in the Prem if we fail to get promoted f) LUFC end many players' contracts, put 6 other players up for transfer, offer revised contracts to a few others g) LUFC make one signing and then fail to even be in the running on any other transfers h) Snodgrass does not believe the hype and won't sign any contract until he sees the club actually has ambitions - White, McCormack also hold out, while Lees signs up. Warnock admits to frustrations. i) LUST put their money where their mouths are and find potential investors and introduce them to LUFC. j) Warnock returns from holiday to find the money has run dry, there is zero progress made, but he can't say an official word because of ongoing talks with potential investors / purchasers We still have no players. The ones we have are no good, and the good ones we have are unlikely to stay. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/144129-LUFC-Squad-2012-13-UPDATED-WHEN-SOMETHING-TO-REPORT This is NOT THE FAULT OF LUST, irrespective what they say i their press releases and interviews. Players have refused to come to LUFC for a long time prior to LUST making any statements. I repeat, THE CURRENT SITUATION IS NOT THE FAULT OF LUST, NEVER HAS BEEN, AND NEVER WILL BE. You are over-reacting.
This is what bugs me. Why are you giving LUST grief for exposing things that bates has caused? Hiding it all will just keep him here longer. No matter what effect this has on players wanting to come to Leeds, it has nowhere near the same effect as bates has on players coming to Leeds. And since it is just another thing caused by bates, why on earth does it matter? Stop blaming LUST for stuff that bates is doing wrong.
You say LUSTs action isn't good as it won't affect bates then say that the best way to get rid is to stop paying money... If the fans feel the players are disillusioned to the point where their support won't help them perform, players won't be coming in to the sinking ship, that might be their tipping point to decide their money is better spent elsewhere.
