Well now we finally know that Cameron and Clegg will be sharing a bed in Downing Street.

But what does this mean for Scotland? 85% of the Scottish people voted against the Tories!

The ''Liberal'' Democrats will be out on their arse come the next election. Nick Clegg now comes across to me as a man who would kill his own granny to get some power. The Tories can't be totally happy about this either, just think of all those shadow cabinet members, they have waited so long for their own seat in the cabinet but now the Lib Dems are coming in to take a fifth of the seats.

I have heard that it is a FIXED Five Year Coaltition <yikes>

i think credibly tory/lib is the only way to go. a lib/lab (which is what i wouldve wanted before the election) wasnt strong enough and the gov would've been held to ransom by every other **** with a seat. as for a minority gov, either tory or lib/lab, it wouldnt have been strong enough to put through the measures needed. as i said i wouldve wanted a lib/lab gov but they didnt get enough seats or votes to make that realistic, this coalition represents nearly 60% of the UK which is almost unheard of.

its better for the country to have strong gov. its better for the lib dem voters to enter a coalition because then they get some say in how we are governed and a referendum on (some) electoral reform. i also think its better for labour to be in opposition for awhile as its easier to look good there and this parliament will not be a popular one.

Another general election would have been the wiser choice for me. The UK is a strictly bi-partisan country like the US. If anyone thinks that the Lib Dems will make a difference to Tory policies then they're living on dream street. Christ the Lab-Lib government up here was a shambles and they were politically bonded when compared to the manifestos and policies of Conservative and Lib Dems in this election.

i'd disagree, it really pisses me off when people say this wont work. ****ing make it work then. we voted for what we wanted, its now up to them to form a gov that reflects the views of the nation, MPs turning round and saying "oh no, you cant vote like that, try again" completely misses the point. we voted for this, now ****ing get on with it.

I understand where you're coming from but asking politicians to get along is like asking junkies to give up smack for lent. Impossible and impractical.

but why? i think this is an opportunity to change the way politics is done in this country and get past a lot of the bi-partisan ****e that goes on. personally i want PR and a gov to represent its electorate, so for me this is a step in that direction and although its not exactly what i wanted ti does have the backing of 60% of us so i'll accept it.

I just think the polarity of the two ruling parties is so huge that it'll eventually blow up in their faces. A right-wing Euro-sceptic Prime Minister and his No-nukes Liberal Deputy. Sounds like something out of 2000AD.

I totally accept it had to happen as Labour are total lame ducks right now. Doesn't mean I have to like the fact it's happening. I hope it works out and I'm proved wrong LR. But in my opinion it's only a matter of time before this shaky deal blows up in the faces of Clegg and Cameron.

one thing i'll give them though is that as politicians both sides will squirm like worms on a hook to get round certain things. trident is a must have for the tories and tbh i think the lib dems will settle for a review on trident that inevitably tells us to keep it. as for tax/spending, this parliament was always going to have to kick **** out of the country, it was no suprise that no one really told us what they'd do (they blamed it on the lack of a spending review before the election) as they knew that if they told the truth whilst the others kept up the "we'll use less paper clips" line they'd be ****ed. osbourne might be chancellor but vince cable has been given business (and probably banking) so economically a lot of the power will be with the lib dems.

Europe will be a problem though, i'm not sure how much of it is tough talking for the tory base but i forsee this being the most problematic area for the two parties to work together on.

    **** it. gimme £700 and i wont give a **** <ok>

also have a theory they'll just mash their ideologies together and see what comes out. i forsee steep tax rises against high earning gay men as well as increase child tax credits for single parents as long as they stamp a fox to death <oK>

not all the gays, just the rich ones. medium to low income gay men would be fine, as long as they become scout leaders. big community and all that <ok>
