If you were a black lad would you want to hear that crap for 90 minutes?
    I wouldn't.
The racists don't want to force games off... they want to insult black players plain and simple so why give them the stage to do so.

Dead right, at the end of the day its the players and teams that hold the power. As soon as Dutch, French and German players and teams pull out of a major tournament (or are banned by UEFA) the sponsors will run a mile.

Nope. I don't believe we do make a stand now. We just have to keep fighting the good fight, by highlighting these problems when they occur and dealing with the individuals as best we can. Its not footballs problem to be perfectly frank. This is an issue that society and the law needs to sort out, football should not be used as the vehicle to force change. Football already plays a bigger part in the fight against racism than just about every other sport.

UEFA and FIFA certainly need to up their game though, and they need a full review of how sanctions are handed out. But for once I do sympathise with them, because often the person responsible is not the one who suffers. The sanctions are passed to the club or country. Realistically there is not anything these parties can do to stop someone hell bent on spreading their "message".

Unfortunately this subject is something that can only be cured by eduation over a long period of time. Whether people like it or not it takes a long time to change these attitudes. The problem you have is every country is at a different stage with the fight. Walking etc will not kick start some mass change in people who hold these beliefs. All you'll really do is punish the real football lovers and those who are actually smart enough to not think along thsoe lines!

    Bollocks.

It may take til the end of time to stop people having racist thoughts. It takes very little time to stop racist chants if you are seriously interested.

By having enough stewards there with the right training...Racist chants result in ejections/bans/arrests - if someone has paid good money to see a match, they'd think twice before chanting if it meant they'd spend the rest of the match in the back of a police van!

Idiots will always be idiots, but mob mentality is simply that - take away the source of the chants and the sheep will follow!

Or, if you really want to make you point quickly, stop the game and empty the stand that the racist chanting came from. Once a few thousand fans have been kicked out because a few dozen idiots started chanting, they'll sort it out themselves and/or be first to call the stewards to eject the trouble maker.

While the odd racist remark gets made in English stadia, and the odd fan gets barred as a result, racist abuse audible at pitch level is virtually unknown. Anyone who's interested can follow our example.

Don't think I've said any different to that to be honest. Indeed that's exactly what should, people being ejected etc. I'm just against teams walking off etc.

Not an acceptable solution to me. You're punishing people who have done no wrong. You have to focus on the guys causing the problem, and just eject them. Using England as an example is not really relevant for me. The reason for racism being less of a problem in stadiums in this country is little to do with the fact you get ejected from the stadia. It helps but the reason for it is that racism is probably less of a problem in general. But its not for football to be used to get a country to do more to fight racial issues any country might have.

I maintain that the best thing to do is keep playing, ignore it.

Let the authorities subtly arrest wrong-doers and let the games and tournament continue.

These 'racists' are often just troublemakers, who love violence as much as they dislike coloured people (can I say coloured?).

Don't give them the pleasure of a reaction and arrest them afterwards.

Racism has a long history, taking in slavery, the holocaust... even as far back as Genghis Khan and masses of people died.
fattism or gingerism though doesn't... that's the difference.
