    This in itself breeds expectation, of the "we're so mediocre we might just surprise ourselves" kind. Hope springs eternal, but I almost wish it wouldn't sometimes.

    I just hope we don't get humiliated again like we did versus Germany. Woy's known for getting his teams well organised, so hopefully we won't be embarrassed again.

    Rio Ferdinand is hardly my favourite player, but the way he has been treated is disgusting. The simple fact is that he isnt going because of the court case involving JT and Anton. This is as clear a case of the innocent party being punished as you will ever see. John Terry is a total a-hole and should not be representing a multi-cultural country while this is ongoing.

    And dont anybody start with the innocent until proven guilty line, hes innocent only because the courts havnt got around to him yet. i hope if and when he is found guilty the F.A dont decide that a court imposed punishment is sufficient. as JT can afford a good lawyer and will more than likelly get off with 100 hours comunity work coaching kids, when his misdemeaners deserves at least the same punishment as suarez, some might argue a lot more.

    Other people have been punished for Terry's bad behaviour before. Wayne Bridge missed out on South Africa 2010 in exactly the same way.

    The reason behind Kelly's selection is pretty simple to figure out if you think about it - He can easily cover @ RB should the need arise. Rio cannot.

    Why do that when you can blindly follow the press hysteria over a non story though? Its the english way. We have plenty of good centre backs, someone had to miss out.

    The thing is Kelly wasn't brought in to be a CB, he was brought in to take the position of Jones who will now be 4th choice CB.
