I wonder who the major voters, ie biggest debtors are for the CVA? HMRC for one, and errr...Chanrai himself? Just wanna get a feel in my head of whether this will be accepted (most likely) or not.
2p in the pound is a ****ing disgrace, my mate is owed 35k by them as he helped refurbish the changing rooms and hallways.
£35 000 x 0.2 x 0.02 = £140 So Chanrai wants your mate to lose £34 860 so that he doesn't lose any of his own very questionable investment. I know what I would say to his proposal if I was your mate except it is far too offensive to publish here!
The bit in all of this that I find difficult to understand is that a large number of the fans don't want him to buy their club but many of them seem reluctant to get behind the Trust's proposal.
This is just so sad.. I've loved saints all my life (I'm 61), many of my friends are Pompey fans and are of the same generation as me. They don't deserve this, but deserve justice that reflects their loyalty and dedication. These issues are no different to ours over the past few years. I personally am very uncomfortable with anti Pompey songs and never join in. It seems to me to be the underpinning of all that it is wrong in this world.. sectarianism, racism and frankly the 'hate thy neighbour' attitude that is personified in our fears for the current European Championships. Send a Saints and a Pompey fan to Lords for a one day final and they will sing 'ampshire at the top of their voices together. Send them to Auschwitz and they will feel the same sense of horror and loss. Only the uneducated and/or those who have been raised without emotional maturity in their parents will find solace in their unthinking violence be it physical, verbal or psychological. COYRs.
If I'd lost most of my money to the various owners of PFC, I would risk losing the last bit of it to see Chanrai lose his money. He probably wasn't the worst of a bad bunch and has probably been cheated as well, but why should he come out with more than 2p in the pound. He is only trying to keep the club going until he can extract his money.
Not the sharpest tool in the box? If they are taking season ticket money it should go in a separate account in case they can't fulfill their obligations.
Cortese said PL within 5 years and we made it in three, but he fully intended to invest heavily to achieve it. Sadly for Pompey, I doubt that Chanrai intends to invest more than the minimum to achieve his aim of getting some of his money back. He was making an empty promise to the creditors.
what's collecting stamps got to do with it????????? Enough of the fun. The situation for me has gone beyond credibility. The man is simply using the legal financial system to hope he gets more of his money back and stuff anyone else who has debt in there. I never thought I'd want to see a club go bust properly, but I do think that the same thing is going to happen again at Pompey. It is time for it to stop. End it and let those poor fans deal with what they have to and prepare for a new life or a new club, or phoenix, or whatever. If I was on a machine, terminally ill and all the "expert" doctors didn't really know what to do, I'd be making sure that my family knew that the best thing was to turn off the machine. The difference with Pompey now, is the machine is a "life sucking" machine, not a "life support" one. I genuinely feel for every Pompey fan. It is not their fault but they are suffering without any control.
Over the last couple of years PFC have amused, annoyed, horrified, angered and bemused me. I am finally in a place where I can't even take pleasure in their demise. I well remember loading saintsfc in my browser a few years ago not knowing if my club would even exist. I could not then even consider the real possibility of a re-born Saints in the non-league setup, clutching at any straw offered by any dubious buyer. Now Pompey are, like some cartoon whore, about to fall into the leech like arms of Chainrai again I can finally understand the PFC fans who would go for liquidation and rebirth. Good luck chaps, you'll need it.
We will always act as a safe haven for Devon, Meowth and Lapras who need a break from misery. Like to wish you luck but who knows what the best option is.
