"Liverpool Target Arsenal, Wigan & Wolves Signings as Brendan Rodgers Gets to Grips With Reduced Budget" According to a report this morning Rodgers is looking to sign Nicholas Bentner Diame Matt Jarvis What do you think, would any of these improve our squad? Diame and Jarvis are decent enough players but both played for relegated or relegation threatened teams. Bentner is a talented player but has a pretty poor attitude and looks lazy to me. However, these smack of the sort of signings we made last year all be it at cheaper prices (about £20 mill...3 for the price of Downing ) One final point it comes from Caught Offside so its a load of bollocks for sure (maybe not Diame) but its something to discuss as its sooooo quiet on here.
Jeez we must be desperate if the only thing we can discuss is caughtoffside rumours! However I will play along, Bendtner no ****ing way!, Jarvis only if we can get him for 5-6mil and not sure about Diame.
Diame could make a worthy back up to Lucas. At least short term. Jarvis is good, but I dont see him as better than Downing really. Bentner is hit and miss. He has seriously legal issues off the pitch to do with driving which we could do with out.
Jarvis and Diame as cheap squad players I would take, ALONGSIDE some quality starters, I cant stand Bendtner and dont rate him anyway and I would would seriously be questioning the club if we signed him
Seriously hope not, I wouldn't mind Diame and Jarvis but Bentner, seriously? If we can get Diame for free and Jarvis on the cheap then we can use the money spare to get someone better than Bentner :L
Jarvis? I mean come on that's one of the "proven British" signings. Diamé? Meh. Lucas is much better and if Lucas gets injured then a season of Diamé does not appeal to me. I'm not even going to comment on Bendtner.
So all in all I take it we are not impressed. Good job it's Caught Offside then and is surely a load of bollocks.
Javis is the only one I'd half consider, but only then, because I'm starting to have some faith in the new gaffer, and his ability to improve players.
Jarvis impressed my last season to the point where I wanted us to sign him. He can play on either wing, use either foot, shoot, pass, tracks back, can beat a man, puts in a decent cross and is energetic. However, he was poor this season so I wouldn't want to see us signing him for a large sum of for the first team so, because I think he would only improve the squad and not the first team, I don't think we should be looking to sign him now. Not commenting on the others being the link is just bollocks anyway
