Completely agree about Drury. Absolute Legend I t was from Charlie Wyett I heard it. He also said about Russell Martin and Andrew Surman signing contracts so 1 out of 3 so far.
Certainly seems possible, he had mentioned recently he was taking his coaching badges and considering taking up coaching when he retired. Saying that I'm sure he would like to continue playing for a season or two more at NCFC and I would say deserves a new contract based on that alone.
Yeah wouldn't be surprised if Player/Coach. Plus I think left back is a weak point Tierney capable but injuries last season were slightly worrying. He isn't injury prone but if it happens again we need some adequate back up. Thought Drury was brilliant this season tough.
Hey Superman, I think Jeff Wood our goalkeeping coach deserves a bit more respect than that. He has done and is doing a great job. I realise Dave Watson is very highly thought of, and part of the England setup at Euro 2012, but let's give credit where it's due. Of course, maybe a progressive Premier League club like City need two goalkeeping coaches not one, in which case .........
I also think they'll go, but it makes sense for them to wait for the new manager to come in and see what things are like. They may as well keep their options open. You never know, they may find they get on better with Hughton than Lambert!
They'll go, I'm 100% certain of that. However, if we can delay their moves to Villa as long as we can, the more that will disrupt Villa's plans.
spot on will also pressurise them for compo, lambert will be bricking it if he has not got his brains with him
Probably inevitable although with his old playing association I just hope that IC may be tempted to hang around. I am really p*ssed that Villa are trying to get everything on the cheap though, we have paid up and they are supposedly a bigger outfit. Pisspoor ethics.
Tend to agree with that. Mind you, I'd love it if they decided to stay at Colney/CR, as I'm sure PL will struggle without them. Can't really understand why the Villains are so adamant about not paying compensation. All-in-all, you've gotta love DMcN for the way he was able to unveil CH to the media the after PL was unveiled at Villa Park!!!!

lets not forget that villa aren't really doing anything too different to what we did when we hired lambert. we can't claim the moral high ground! i do think its more than a coincidence that this keeps happening when lambert wants to move club though... i fully expect he was tapped up before hand by villa and knew exactly how to get the best deal for his new club. i expect we'll get minimal compensation and that will be that. i'm pleased we approached birmingham city in a more professional manner and sorted everything amicably
Not the most reliable source, but :- "MirrorFootball ‏@MirrorFootball Breaking: Kevin MacDonald has left Aston Villa, with Paul Lambert bringing in his own staff"
that's a massive risk by lambert, getting rid of 'mr aston villa'. he's an exceptional coach, especially at youth level. wouldn't mind seeing us try to bring him in... EDIT. it seems he may have left of his own accord rather than be pushed
MacDonald's departure confirmed on the AVFC site - no mention of IC and GK on there, just the Mirror making assumptions?
The Mirror are just speculating like we are. They will go, but they'll go on our terms, and not Villa's.
