Tractor Boy Steve spent it on slimfast and asked me to tell you to **** off. Hughton has the capacity to be a great manager. As each job poses its own difficulties I look forward to him burning his fledgling career with you numbskulls. Birmingham and Newcastle had better squads than yours so if he can keep the harmony within the playing squad then he may do well. It seems that you've got some player issues to sort before integrating newbies. Interesting summer for you lot.
Just out of interest what is Hootons record for bringing in players or has he just used what he has???
Tractor Boy Steve spent it on slimfast and asked me to tell you to **** off. Well if that is your typical Binner then thank God I come from Gods county where the ladies and gentlemen are all honorable people.
Yay for Plug coming back Shame he now has a second rate set-up, with a second rate budget to work with.
only brought a freebie to birmingham - chris burke. at newcastle signed cheick tiote, danny simpson, tatem ben arfa amongst a few gems. also brought in sol campbell so not a 100% track record!
I realise this was a wum post, but a young player will develop due to his natural ability and quality of his coach not as some believe how nice the grass how many showers there are or how many free boots they get.
Is that a serious question? If it was, have a look at this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elite_Player_Performance_Plan http://www.premierleague.com/content/premierleague/en-gb/youth/elite-player-performance-plan/ For a kick-off, we will be able to attract the better players in our region, so Plug will be working with players that are not as good as the ones our Academy manager will be working with. Don't really need to go on, do I.
While your in the prem and us in the championship that is going to be the case no matter the budget, all i'm saying is that all you need to develop a player is a ball and some grass you don't need a big budget for that.......
I disagree about what respective league's we're in. If I was a young kid, I would prefer to get coached at a club where they will spend more money on me, not just because of what league they're in. You could miss out on some quality Suffolk kids because they can see us or London clubs spending more money on them. An Academy manager can only do so much. I'm certain that Klug will be able to get better results than most Academy manager's, but surely you must agree, it would be better if he was working with a kid that has more potential quality? Edit - I used the name Plug as some of your boys seem to have a new 'comedy' name for Hughton, but as I'm not a child, I won't bring myself down to that level again.
firstly Carra, did you realise that 'Klub' was completely **** and change it? Secondly, even with a Category Two set up that's a lot more investment than ever before... A man like this doesn't need investment in buildings and extra coaches to get the best out of a handful of youngsters. I'd rather have him than your Category One set up without him. so your posts on this subject are nothing short of a terrific own goal. I'd quit while you're behind! All we need to do to attract the best kids is to reel off the list of talent that this guy has brought through!
carra, i know klug quite well. he's very experienced and the ipswich fans are right to have faith in him, he's a real talented guy. however, you're essentially right. because ipswich won't get hold of the best youngsters in the area he will have to work with lesser-ability youth players. nothing ipswich can do about that and even though yorkie is right and they will be spending more in terms of development than before, it has little or no effect because of the situation at norwich, and therefore they can't win. they'll be spending more money than ever before on young players and not getting as good a results. its unfair in my opinion but i'm not complaining as my club will benefit enormously. money talks at the end of the day and the attraction of norwich's academy will be too great, greater even than klug's talents.
Oh I know Klug is a real talent, and that may help them with their lower budget, but as you and I say, they won't be able to attract the better players in the region. By the way, I'm certainly not saying we will attract all the Suffolk kids, as now the 90 mile rule has been abolished, they could essentially go anywhere. However, some parents will not be in a position to move to a different part of the country, so they will probably be stuck with us.
I don't think the cat 1 cat 2 will make much difference to be honest it will still come down to what each player is after either money or opportunity, And also in this area the lad will likely be a Narwich fan or an Ipswich fan which could make up his/her mind.
