    If there is one positive thing regarding the retention of Hess, it's this;
Despite the distraction of the appointment of the new manager -(( perhaps we won't get one & we'll all take it in turns each week - now there's a thought ))
Seriously............ I'd like to think that Hess has been able to concentrate on available players to strengthen the squad -he should know those positions. There doesn't appear to be much activity on the transfer scene - but Scally needs to make a decision soon - because players won't wait for him.

Plymborn - welcome ( to a forum that is alive ) :cheesy:
Who would you like as manager ( if Plymouth were in the market )? Whoever we get, I hope that we wont want to put him into your Room 101 ( good choices of yours - you old bugger )

Not long to wait - and I don't mean the European Championship.

Heard news (via a source at the club ) that the managers job has been offered to two candidates. One of them was Paul Ince - but he declined the package.
The other man is weighing up options. ( understandable )- L.C.

Well it's not Steve Bruce brb. Hull manager on a 3 year contract.

Alwaysright, what happens if the other guy turns down the package too? Looks like we'll be looking at a cheap option again so that's Lee Clark out. Who's left?

Not actually messing about- or being a smart ass :cheesy: ( Hoadie's not around to wind up )

The source is the same as put that bet I spoke about a couple of days ago.
I'd love to see L.C. at Gillingham - I fear he might get a better offer.
Put the Telly on - it starts in a few minutes ( come on Poland ! )

That's me out of the manager selection race then. Never was in the running but he took the boredom away of thinking about the other candidates. Just proves what a joke the bookies are as well. The best offer I saw on SB was 25-1, they had about as much hope of getting my money at those lousy odds as there is of Hope Powell getting the job. Now there is a thought...

I didn't want to mention that - and I hope that the 3rd / 4th choice doesn't get to find out - especially as he won't have total authority on the picking of the playing staff- I seriously hope that doesn't bite us in the bum.

So if we believe everything the running list is being diminished daily...

    Steve Bruce - Hull
    Lee Clark - Birmingham???
Stephen Constantine - Did he get an interview?
Micky Adams - Refused permission to talk too
    Hope Powell - Olympics
Paul Ince - with alwaysright comment will go from 14/1 to evens on Skybet <laugh>

Can anyone break a few more names down further...

I know I suggested that the other day but maybe........

It could be the perfect cover to bring someone good in and other teams won't notice?

    Nah I doubt that either.

Paul Ince was offered the position but refused? Well on the positive side at least it shows ambition...

Do we have any hard and fast sources though, no offense Always but I never really trust the "my mate told me" angle

^ Haha you don't give up do you Mark? All the other names are still in the bag then, we know Robson was interviewed and would be happy to work with Hess (considering he was his no.2) I assume. I just hope it's sorted this week. We need to start strengthening! Preston have signed 12 players already!!
