If anything they're the two games he must focus on. But the answer to why we lost the one at Carrow Road is simply Yaya Toure.
Would be brilliant if those 2 do stay. I want PL to have a successful career but really want AV to struggle - just a club I don't like. Hope he gets lumped with all of McLeish's dodgy staff and they really struggle whilst we flourish under a excellent management team
so lets get this straight. as it stands, norwich city's backroom staff consists of: chris hughton, colin calderwood, paul trollope, ian culverhouse, gary karsa (maybe dave watson - not clear if he's coming after the euros), ewan chester whilst at villa they have: paul lambert, peter grant, glenn roeder ****ing hell
Got to admit, if The Rodent and Grant are there too, that is a sorry team, perhaps they can share stories on how they came to leave!
Sounds like PL really has sold himself short! He is going to need every bit of his managerial genius to succeed at Villa I feel.
I did like the style of football the Pirates played under Trollope at Bristol Rovers. They were just too lightweight but played our type of football. I think he will be good for us. As long as he is given the respect by the dressing room.
I think the type of players we have everyone will respect the backroom staff. To be fair Hughton has got Barton to respect him so I don't think our squad will be any problems
i thought he was going to go on to be a really good manager - he faded terribly in his final season at rovers. he was linked with many championship jobs for a year or so before it all went pear shaped. not so keen on calderwood but he's regarded highly as a coach and motivator.
I think the importance of a good coaching team is often overlooked by fans (not here I must add). Usually people just view the manager but the people he brings into motivate, take training sessions and deal with the players day to day are vital to the success at the club. Currently Norwich are looking very good in this position and especially if they keep IC and GK that is an unbelievably good back room team. The club is building brilliently and we can all be very optimistic for the future
Can certainly see that happening and would love him too. You can see him been one of those people who are around the club for years after their playing career is over. He is a top pro with lots to offer and clearly loves the club and the area. Would be great to get him on a player/coach role
