    Apart from the Obvious Big AL...... I would bring back Beardsley to slot into our midfield, he would link up great with the players we have now.

    Nahhh... you ditch Ba and play an extra man in midfield. Ba is next to useless in this system anyway.

    A few names spring to mind:

    At the back it'd be woodgate, even with his injuries in my opinion he's the only world class defender we've had in the past two decades. Also a shout for Olivier Bernard pre-contract issues shipping him off, he was better than Jose but gets knocked because when he came back to us a few years later he was gash.

    Midfield it's a tie between Lee, Speed, Gazza and Hamann (for that one season he was a titan).

    Up front Speed, Ferdinand or Pedro.

    Looking at our line-up and where we need to strengthen I don't think the forwards or midfield is what we specifically need right now, though arguably a left winger like Ginola if we played that system but currently we don't. As for defence I like our centre back pairing so I'd go for...

    Olivier Bernard (or Pedro/Gazza ... tricky one)

    Don't get me wrong I liked Bernard but I couldn't ahve him as good as Jose. Jose was quicker, stronger, better positonally. Sure Bernard was better going forward but a full back is a defender first for me. Mind one thing I would say about Bernard is he still holds one of the best comedy moments in our history. The day when Robert had him staggering round like a stunned boxer after bleezing one straight in his temple!! Still has me in stitches now.
