In my daily trawl of paper websites, I was pleased to notice that the Mail had updated its Premier League list to include us. However, when I opened our transfer news section there seemed some completely random signings as well as the usual suspects like JRod and Green. Seems we've signed a new quarter back...thought that was a position we had covered. Seems we are going to get news about some American football team:smile:

I suspect the problem is that few human beings are actually involved in these websites. Computer didn't spot the difference between the two Saints teams. Used to buy a lot of papers but then realised how miserable and angry they made me. Only bother with sport now.

Daily Mail? That'll be the paper that warns us all about a secret EU plan to replace the Royal family with Rumanian Asylum Seekers, whilst banning Walls pork sausages and making gay marriage cumpulsory.

There's far worse papers than the Daily Mail.

Also American Football's great, much better than that dire rip-off sport Rugby!

Go on then. I'd love to see a list of same category newspapers that are actually worse than the Daily Mail.

I like 'I', part of the Independent (which I've never read). Summarises contents in first few pages, followed by longer articles. Great for grabbing a coffee or reading on a train....also cheap.

So you're comparing American Football to the "Rip-Off" that the rules evolved from?

The rip-off part, yes but American Football being better than Rugby? Nope. Rugby is a dire sport.

Hey, I never specified same category! The Sun, the Star, the Daily Express, The News of the World are all much worse.

I am no egg chasing fan but Rugby is by far a better sport than American Football will ever be IMO.
I also remember once that an English team challanged an American Football team to a game but the yanks would not play without their protective gear on because they might get hurt!!!

    Or because they're sensible.

American Football is quite strategic and there seems to be a lot of tactics involved. Even though it gets stick for the amount of stoppages 1) rugby has a lot too 2) they're not as bad as you'd think.

Rugby is just stupid, there's barely any tactics and half the time it's just booting the ball up the field. One person will try to barge their way through an entire team when it's just pointless as they're not going to get through. At least in American football they generally try to avoid just running head first like an idiot into a crowd of people, unless they're on the last play and need to make up the yards perhaps. Plus American Footballers have the physique and equipment that they could actually get through a few yards.

And yes, News of the World doesn't exist anymore.

I realise that American football is tactical and is probably more enjoyable when you understand it, but life is too short (well it is for me, of course;)).

Played rugby for a bit...don't think I will ever understand it. All I remember is being flattened on a number of occasions, and being told I was offside when I clearly was not. Plus it has a strange reputation for being a gentleman's sport, which I always find amusing when I read that a player has been banned for two weeks for attempting to gouge someone's eye out.
