The cynic in me suggests that BR was merely being diplomatic. Football is a cut throat business as we have found to our cost, so to make enemies unnecessarily is foolhardy. He has made his choice, one that had he made in twelve months time, would have seen him move on with an almost universal blessing from the Swansea faithful. However, he weighed up his options and decided that the rewards for doing so outweighed any obligation he had to us, irrespective of the fact that there was every chance that we would be damaged by his move. Okay, it's his life, his future but he compounded the problem by publicly stating his interest in Siggy, well knowing how vital a signing he would be for us. It may well be that Siggy might have decided to change his mind anyway but Rodgers didn't help. I will always appreciate what he did for us but I hope that, in turn, he appreciates what we did for him. Without us, there would have been no Liverpool. In fact there might have been no job of any sort for quite a long time. He's gone. He's history. I want no more to do with him; no more than I would any other rival manager.
he did not have to write a letter to the fans through the post if he did not care about us, i think its a nice gesture and thoughtful of him....
we will like him if he can lend us siggs though wouldn't you ivor...its a possibility if siggs cant get in his team..
He doesn't give two tosses about US. That is why he is in Liverpool. BR is interested in BR and BR only. He is already spinning the Blarney up in Liverpool. Good luck to him. He did a good job for us, but the fact that he dumped us in one of the greatest chapters of the Clubs history means that his reputation will remain tainted for many Swans fans.
Wow... PGF... he might have left us in one of our greatest chapters but are we in the deepest hole? We are in a better position than any year for 30 seasons guaranteed (I would argue more) with or without him. If we had lost him last year/Xmas we would have been more screwed. Just a shame he didn't stick around and keep us up for 1 more year, then he would have been the greatest Swansea manager in all eyes and guaranteeing his legacy. Now it is up for debate. Cheers BR and good luck
Frankly , I'm glad to have the money he left more than him staying . Did a good job , got no hard feelings whatsoever . Won't follow his career with interest like I do with Roberto .
I am trying to stay off the red stuff. But now you have mentioned it .................................
poor brendan he cant do right for doing wrong.. If you could lend siggs to us ...dont bother as there are fans that cant see the good you have done in a short space of time and think you are selfish because you want to manage a big club...ungrateful i call it...
please log in to view this image .....Top post, and how I see it too, you won't catch me kissing the butt of the Irishman full of Blarney! Open letter? a Jack? whatever next, it's enough to make you vomit! Man there's some claptrap on this thread, and it's not coming from Dai either...................
Who's kissing his butt? Merely suggesting that the guy did more good for this club than he did bad. Tbh, I don't think anybody on here should hold any sort of grudge toward him. None of us will EVER be put into a position that he was put in a week ago, ever! Imagine how hard it was for him. Double the money, doube/triple the transfer funds, bigger prospects. Scenario for you. Your the manager of a football club in the Premier league. You have £7million to spend on transfers and a £100,000 PW wage budget. You earn £2 million a year. You then get offered a job at one of the biggest clubs in the world. Offered £5million a year, £50million transferfunds, £400,000 PW wage budget. Tell me, what do you do? I know what I'd pick!
Don't hold any grudge against the guy, just wish he'd go away and concentrate on his own club now, I have said all along that it's more important that we get a new manager. As for your question I don't think anyone argues about him going to Liverpool they are a huge club, but it's his wink wink comments about siggy that grates, he announced to the football world that he interested in him, very underhanded and could have been said in private.
there is no wink wink valley. siggs knows what is going on and the goal post has moved for him. brendan cant stop him wanting to follow him to liverpool if the chance is there....we have saved around £14 million quid that we can now use to get a better player once we get a manager installed.....norwich have not hung about they lost their manager after us and now they are sorted with a new manager who is getting right down to work looking for players. we are still farting about with will he or wont he, its him no its not him and its dragging on....jinks says he is on holiday and to me he should go on holiday AFTER he has got his manager as we need someone in place to sort things out and not end up leaving it till the last minute where the cream of the crop have been snapped up....we need someone now..
Superswan of course there is, he announced to the whole bloody world that he wants him at Liverpool, if he wanted him he should have simply gave the kid a ring and asked him. His integrity has gone! There is no farting about I think on the new manager, its a real important position and they are considering their options on this, its the press and bookies that are doing all the farting around if you ask me, they are all saying one thing, then like lemmings they go onto the next and so on. Its only been a week only since Brendan has left and there is time to get another manager in, you would think that the season is starting next week the way that you are going on about it, it took I think 2-3 weeks to get a new manger in when Martinez left, the same when Sousa left, this is going to be no different. Though I do wish he would crack on with it lol
you forget we are premiership now and not lower league where you can take your time. jinks obviously think that his holiday is more important to him than sorting out a manager like norwich have done...you cant hang about in this league or you will be left with the dregs..he heeds to be here sorting things out....there is plenty of time to go on holiday after the important business is sorted first.....what is more important to him...he cant do it properly on holiday and the clock is ticking. .the fixture list is out soon and the manager needs time to sort things out...
How do you know right at this very moment huw's not working hard to get the right manager in , if it takes a little longer than we'd like so be it , better to get it right than rush in and get it wrong
