In limbo at present. Some teams have already been moved down to their new league and we should be next. None appear to have been moved up yet.
Sad news on the youth system being scrapped, but silver lining you're now in the relegation zone of League 2 on the BBC Link Things can only go better for you lads Good Luck
Do you guys also have financial problems, is this the reason you all seem so negative or is it because of the relegation? We had 2 successive relegations and were a whisker away from being no more so I kinda get the doom & gloom but it does get better - eventually.
we have some financial issues, but the main problem is we are currently going through a takeover. the club is being handed back to the wwfc trust, who (despite caring about the club) have little money to put in. the clubs in debt and this has lead to the closure of the centre of excellence. mainly the reason for the negativity, also a transfer embargo still in place so until thats lifted, we cant make more signings... personally i think as soon as the trust is back in charge and the embargo is lifted we will be fine, but i do think closing the centre of excellence is a bad sign
I don't see how there was any choice to be honest. I suspect there are teams doing better than us that do not have centres of excellence.
actually no. acccording to the BBC we are the only one of the 72 football league clubs without any form of youth team centre anymore
Very interesting. I wasn't aware of that and I'm surprised. It wouldn't surprise me then if others came to the same conclusion at some stage. Maybe they are running their operations on a smaller/less expensive scale, in which case it would beg the question did we have to kill it completely. Is any information available from other clubs regarding the cost of their youth team centres and how much they have received from sales?
It will all come to nothing with youth investment if the proposed 'big clubs taking youth from small clubs for a nominal fee' comes into reality. It will mean that it is not worthwhile running the system. Crewes cost over a million a year to run and if they sell their striker for the rumoured £4m then great, but it is still a risky venture to spend money on.
just as well wycombe starts with a "w" not 606 should catch up with you by november. by which time the jelly on the plate may become a mountain. still drinking that "friends of the urinal" lager, rocky?
a pint or 2 now and then aj,after working friday and saturday 7 am till 3 am both days i think i deserve a couple of bevvies .
Still showing in L1 and fixtures are out today. I've asked when the league re-construction will be completed.
