http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur BBC website has us down for a friendly on 28th July at White Hart Lane, 6pm kick off, against Liverpool.. Anyone else heard about this?
If Spurs are playing Liverpool at WHL on July 28th, I've been ripped off, as I'll be sitting in a stadium in Baltimore expecting to see them play.
It's on our American tour so it won't be at the Lane, no. Does the BBC page actually say WHL or just that we're the home team?
BBC doesn't say WHL, but Sky does: http://www.skysports.com/football/match_facts/0,,11065_3513388,00.html Thanks for clearing that up!
It just designates Spurs as the "home" team. I'm really looking forward to this, by the way. Spurs happened to schedule a game right along the path I was planning to travel through on vacation, at the time I was planning to go.
Sounds good. I have a pal(Everton fan) who's recently moved to the States and I think they tour their most years so he still gets to see them. Are you a member of a supporters club or anything out there?
I'll have to look into that. It's great they're going to Baltimore which I've always enjoyed visiting and is near by US standards--and I'm not sure there's another team I'd rather see them play than Liverpool--other than Arsenal. I'll bet you don't know what number of starters we'll see by any chance, do you? From what little I know of foreign tours in all sports, I might expect to see half to three quarters of the first team, but I have no idea what to expect...
Tough to know but seeing as we'll be looking for our crowd drawers like Bale, VDV and Lennon to play a part in all our games while we're over there.
Will the players that play in the Euros (like VDV) be ready by then? And Bale will probably be in the Olympics about then?
me neither..i think when teams travel abroad..it is the only chance some fans have of seeing the stars they follow all season. or did you mean Jenas and Bentley need to buy tickets even if they play?
you overate them..i can see Bentley managing to wrap the washing machine around a tree and Jenas tripping up head first into the barrel.
Anyway, whoever's washing the kit and whereever it's being played I like it. It's a good fixture for us. I say we'll win it.
I've always dreamed of seeing Jenas and Bentley... To tell the truth the main thing is that it will be a thrill to see any team with cockerel badges playing...and the second consideration is that I really want whoever plays, Jenas and Bentley included, to beat the Mousers like red-headed stepchildren.
I think they have to be playing again by the end of July if they're going to be starting the season for us. I hadn't thought about the Olympics though, I guess Bale won't be going unless we really crash out of the Olympics and even then he might not.
