i think the Welsh theme helps them. At the end of the day if you sell the club to foreign investors and embrace all the good that brings (lots more cash, potential markets abroad,) then the fact that they make all their decisions on financial grounds cannot really be questioned. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Both the Welsh clubs in the league have been laying it on thick for a few years - Cardiff changed their badge a few years back to include St David's cross (whilst the new badge has a red dragon on it) whilst Swansea's away strip next season consists of red shirts, white shorts, and green socks.

It's like they're trying to be more Welsh than each other - so expect to see stands named after Owain Glyndwr and Nye Bevan soon...

Teams here have been known to pack up and move in the middle of the night. Of course, I also hate sponsor's names on shirts, but that, for some reason, is a step too far in North America. At least for the moment.

The one issue which haunts me about Cardiff is how they can keep calling themselves the bluebirds. Shouldn't they be the redbirds now?

As to things going downhill: some would say whoring is what capitalism is all about. Everybody's selling themselves, it's just a matter of haggling over the terms.

If in doubt, it's best to presume that Sugar thought the internet was a passing fad...

He claims he invented something similar in the mid-90s - but somehow forgot to release or promote it, given that nobody bought one.
