I agree. I know that he doesn't have a prolific record but what he does in dragging/bullying defenders is under-rated. I'm sure that Owen claimed that Heskey was his best ever strike partner and he wouldn't have scored half as many goals as he did without him (although I don't have a link, just memory). If, as many admit, Fryatt needs someone to play off, I think we'd struggle to find many players who would do that job better than Heskey
1000/1 if the bookies know what they are doing, he's past it and was never a goalscorer anyway, adebolas probably better than him
I never said heskey used to be ****, he complemented owen greatly back then but how long ago was that? Leicester are used to signing retiring PL players hoping they still have juice left (vassell anybody) i'm sure many of our fans would have taken him back then. 6 goals in 44 games. lol
That's a bold statement. I might agree with you that he isn't that bad, but to say he's better than Waggy, Chillo etc. really? I never saw those two unfortunately but from what I've seen and read of their highlights they were amazing and not just in an effort and strength way but through sheer skill as well, I don't think you could put Heskey in that category. Amr Zaki was awesome that day too, but he's a joke now as well.
Yes I was, stood on South Stand. My abiding memory of the incident is him being interviewed by Calender after his first goal and saying he "felt crap" after running around a bit. Alas I wasnt at Blackpool for his second goal.
Remind me how many international caps, world cups and European Championships they played in between them? We're comparing players featuring in the second tier for us with someone facing the best defenders in the world.
At championship level with Matty Fryatt he would do a lot of damage for us next season. He's just the kind of player Bruce could attract. A big name too, so no issues with the Allams agreeing to fund his (oversized) salary. I'd say we've a good chance of getting him even if we are competing with Leicester. But isn't the point that we aren't in the market for him though? So how come the short odds? I suppose the bookies are desperate to persuade more idiots to part with their cash - as usual
Your point is somewhat flawed. Zaki had one decent half season...the end. Heskey has consistently in his career been a good striker. He wouldn't have had so many England caps, or played at so many top clubs, or been held in such high regard by fellow professionals if he was ****. He has cost over £26m in transfer fees. Played 597 games league and cup Scored 153 goals league and cup A goal every 4 games Great record for a support striker in the top flight.
How do you come by that one. We can our do you on wages. Heskey is a Leicester lad and played a big part in saving the club when we was in administration. He has a great rapport here with everyone and recently said he wants to come back So how you can say you stand as much chance as us is beyond me. Emile is to us what Barmby is to you
It's not always about the manager. Emile loves Leicester and has said only a few weeks back he wants to come back.
How? Both homegrown players who represented some big clubs and their country. Both love their home town team
