Bergkamp is too scared to fly thats why he doesn't want the job! Swans are flying too high for him ha ha!
You've got your answer, Breezy. We don't know. Also, do we even know he doesn't want it? Could be some on the Board are keen and others aren't. It's been assumed he's been offered the job. Has he? Has it been publicly announced he 'doesn't want' it? Seems like more speculation again.
Maybe yeah, but like I said I'm just evaluating this on my own preferences entirely. Not basing it on any sort of fact or known feelings of the guy, just the way that I see things. And let's be honest, you say money may be my motivator without even knowing me, yet how many footballers, staff, coaches or managers can really say they haven't gone somewhere or even thought of going somewhere just for the money? Unless jones is that 1 in a million person in football, then he to is in it for the money.
I'd like to think its just because the job has grown by such a margin since he was last here. Three years ago we were upper mid table Championship, playing really good football. Now we're mid table Premiership, playing amazing football. Huw sits him down and sets out what he wants and how Graeme Jones can achieve this and Graeme says, "Sorry Huw, I'm not sure this job is the right fit for me. Thanks." Nothing sinister like them not getting on or Graeme being a '**** house' (and I wouldn't say it to his face either!).
swans-m it sounds great to double your money, and people will go for it very often, but I said money may be your motivator, and when you speak about jones you wonder why he doesn't come to us for double the money, normally when people don't understand why something they put their perspective on it, in your case it was money, for me that sounds like your motivator, I don't need to know you to think that. You put it in a post
I am not dismissing your opinion, just giving you a different way of looking at it, you in your opinion was wondering why he isn't taking the job considering the money he would earn. I put across that maybe money is not his motivator, he's already earning a lot of money so maybe he is happy with what he's getting and where he's living ? Edit: thought I was replying to swans-m - sorry
GJ Back in the running! http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/Graeme-Jones-mix-Swansea-City/story-16300778-detail/story.html
This article may have been premature , looks like Jones may still be in the running after senior members of the squad have been in touch with Jones asking him to take the job . I really do think that the treatment Martinez took after leaving the club has a great deal to do with Jones ' s hesitation toward the job though , probably wrong but what I believe . Regardless , this opportunity seems one that no one in there right mind would turn down as a general rule .
That article is not saying anything that we don't know already, there are no statements from the club so like all speculation its to be taken with a large dose of salts
You hate speculation don't you ha ha! Why are you on here? Really you love it!!!!!!!!!!! Speculate speculate! Keeps me going in this void!
Can live without it, but I just see it for what it is, just old wives having a chat, until we have credible sources it will stay that way.
You seem to be assuming that he's frightened of taking the job. Perhaps he's happy where he is and happy to be no. 2. Not because he's frightened but because he has a good life. Not everyone is ambitious and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't see why you can't just accept that he doesn't want to come here and leave it at that. No need to have a go at him, especially when you have no idea whasoever why he turned the job down. That's assuming he has turned it down. Back to that old Cardiff fan thing. How tedious. Says more about you than me.In any case I wasn't insulting you at all. I was just saying that I thought the comment was pathetic. I didn't say you were. There is a big difference.
I can see GJ staying with Martinez to go to a bigger club with him in the future, should Martinez do another great escape and a larger club takes interest in him then the chances are GJ will be packed up in bobbys suitcase just like last time.
For once I agree with valley. Career promotion doesn't always lead to a happier life. Some people are happy where they are, so that's where they should stay. Better to have some balance in life than put work/career ahead of other important things.
Swans m, Don't worry you're not the first and won't be the last poster that Cardiff fan insults, the list is growing. I don't even look at his poxy threads anymore let alone comment on them. I've decided that if I want to talk to an a55hole I'll fart instead. He's not one of ours that's for sure hopefully he'll jog on back to the Championship board before long. Keep the faith brother and voice your opinions, you're entitled to them as much as anyone and if Cardiff fan thinks you're pathetic don't worry about it.
Don't want him. Not happy That said, he should fit right in with the Prem management fraternity. Being disloyal gets you life membership.
