*UPDATE* There may well be truth in the rumour about Bates' health, this could force a complete takeover deal. I don't know how to feel about this, don't ever want to wish ill health on anyone. Investors not convinced Bates will be able to contribute if his health is failing him, so Ken needs to make a BIG decision now. This can only mean he wants a massive cheque to walk away, will he get it though?

Not necessarily BS. A lot could be now in the hands of his family. They may be weighing up whether they would want to keep control of the club and take it on themselves, or they may wish to consider getting the most, or just getting rid as it is a headache. I would have thought we would have heard about lawyers hawking LUFC around to the highest bidder if that were the case.

He is getting old though, and the stress of the club's finances and future, the hatred of so many fans and the tiring travelling will be all taking its toll. And that bell is ringing a little louder. And more insistently

*UPDATE* Bates ready to walk away from negotiation table!! Oh FFS!!! He only wants investment for a minority share, but the money wants more. Bates an angry man, Leeds could lose a lot today if Levi wins the case thanks to Bates hammering him in the matchday programme. The court case has caused a lot of problems and can bite financially. Expected news is that Bates withdraws from talks as not in best interests of club, UNLESS Bates backs down and gives the money a fair deal for the POTENTIAL they are investing in. Red shirts anyone?

With regard to the court case, Bates could have settled for £35k out of court (Original case) but he was too stubborn and ended up losing and wasting a shed load of the clubs cash, as he was fined and had to pay levi's expenses as well. This case is a civil case and he's sure to lose this as well, but don't think the fine will be as heavy, although Levi's costs will also be expensive. The mans a bufoon and has history of litigation, but recently everything goes against him because of his past. he calls us morons, but better a moron than a bufoon.

Can't wait for Neil to get back because i expect problems between Harvey and him, once Harvey fills him in developments. Will Warnock be willing to hang around until a buy out/investment deal gets done? I can't see it as January is a long way off with a poor team, and a deal still may not happen. If Warnock starts bringing in players next week, I expect an investment deal is almost concluded. failing that Warnock could resign by Wednesday as he won't hang around with a garbage team and no backing.

Talks looking bleak, buyers want the lot and no Bates. This is not going to happen, and if it doesn't gather pace quickly its all over. Warnock faced with signing frees on low wages, Bates is an idiot!

He wants someone to bail him out of the **** but is offering them nothing in return for it. He basically wants someone else to take the fall for his failings.

He'd rather take the club down than accept he's useless. It's his own fault he's useless, without the god complex he might have been capable of so much more.

Ratchet up the heat, leeds fans. Do not give him your money. Walk away and just listen to the games on the radio. He will be off soon enough.

Don't listen to them on the radio, as they get more money for advertising.

    Listen on ustream

That way the ratings don't go up but you still get to listen.

If this deal collapses Bates needs to be very careful how he responds to the media. I say this because his normal stock answer is: 'they were just kicking the tyres, or they couldn't show us the money'. This time its different because they had the money and more than Bates expected. This time the reason was he didn't want to walk away, so his best PR answer should be I thought the deal wasn't in the best interests of Leeds Utd. If he disses them, it could mean future money/offers will not be forthcoming until the club goes into administration where they'll get it cheap. Be careful Bates .... Oh but you never are as you only care about your own wallet.

If this deal doesn't happen then expect relegation

I realise its not good news if Bates stays (which I expect he will because of the web of propaganda and shell companies is too hard to sell),

But firstly why relegation? We still have a squad able to finish mid-table and a manager able to get more out of them.

Surely our best move forward as fans is to withhold our financial support for the club whilst ever Ken remains.

Lets continue to question and pressure the football league over the "fit and proper persons" test...

We need to press the Police/Serious Fraud Office over the alleged undeclared links between Ken Bates and previous creditor Astor in Leeds United's administration.

Did KPMG act with due diligence when undertaking "extensive inquiries" over these links?

Can we get support from the Conservative Party MP's to question this, Leeds is a swing city and if they actively helped press the HMRC / Police to investigate it would only help show that they were tough on tax avoidance etc & win them support.

Has LUST made a complaint on behalf of Leeds fans to the Police over these concerns?

Also with the “Jersey proceedings" to continue, this may lead to a lot more coming out.. hopefully it will continue to undermine Ken Bates as a fit and proper person..

Plus no one from the Leeds United legal team was in court today, could they be otherwise disposed?

    Its not over just yet...

OP I mention relegation because if we start the season without Snodds, White and Ross, this makes a crap team from last season relegation fodder. Add Clayton to that and we start with ? in goal because Lonners could be off, Pearce, Kissa, Lees and Connely, Brown, Becchio and Billy plus the Thompson twins.

LUST do need to put some pressure onto the police, the city of London police as they deal with fraud in the city, HMRC but they need to employ a proper forensic accountant. Still got links between Taylor, Murrin (Banned by the FSA for dealing) and Bates.

How can a club that makes so much money from high gates, premiership prices, transfers out, tv revenue, cup runs etc lose so much money and be worse off than much smaller clubs. Offshore shell companies, ghost accounts, secret owners, its a can of worms and we just want Bates to walk off and leave us alone.

I don't have the sources some of you guys have, but I did hear that the investment/takeover was still going ahead the only reason it has gone quiet is the court case was getting in the way of papers being signed and final touches to the deal, so fingers crossed we will hear something in the next few days. I did hear something about the deal waiting until the end of the court case, but not from my usual source.

Id heard that it was taking so long because the investor wanted to forensically examine the books of the owning companies which is around 17 offshore accounts

With the result of the Levi case out, does this have any bearing on these talks?

Do you think Bates will have had enough (probably not) or make him more resolute to get what he wants? We really need some movement, or players like Peltier and the rest won't be coming after all.
